Carter Collection - Family Hamper

I bought this hamper on January 27, 2015. This review will give you a good idea how it’s held up over four years with a family of four using it.Pros;It has a solid feel, it’s well built, holds a large volume of cloths, and is perfect for a large family. Price is fair.Cons;When full of clothes its heavy because it holds so much. If your laundry room is down stairs or far away from where it’s located it could be a problem for someone that is not very strong to move it when loaded up. I wish it hand handles you could grab on the sides. That would make a huge improvement for moving it around.Over all I would buy again and I give this hamper a 5-Star rating.

This hamper is solid--not a cheap, lightweight item. It seems to be very sturdy and durable, and is large enough for king-size sheets and a good amount of other laundry. It's nice looking, too. I added stick-on felt pads to the bottom so it won't mar my wood floors. I would recommend it.

I purchased the Espresso hamper and it is a rich dark brown as I hoped. The lid is a bit heavy but sturdy, padded, and covered with an easily wiped off vinyl. The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars, was that it does not come with a laundry bag. I had to order one separately and even though I ordered an extra large bag, it was too small for the hamper. For convenience sake they should pair hampers with bags that fit, even if the overall price goes up. Or at least give you the option to purchase a laundry bag to fit this specific hamper.

We remodeled our bathroom and only had about a 13-inch-wide space to put a hamper. I was so pleased to find this one! It fits perfectly in the spot we have for it and it holds about a week's worth of laundry for my husband, me, and our toddler.It seems pretty sturdy after 6+ months of use and we have not had any problems with clothes snagging on the wicker. I really like the wicker sides so the laundry has a little bit of ventilation.I was worried that the lid might be covered in a slick, shiny, cheap looking plastic, but the plastic that is used is nice and easily wipeable if needed, but not glossy.I like the white color as well. It fits into our bathroom color scheme of aqua, white, and brushed nickel perfectly.In short, this hamper does everything I needed and wanted it to do (though it won't actually do the laundry for me!) and I would definitely recommend it to others.

A bit larger than I realized (that is totally on me). Fortunately I was able to place it sideways and it looks great. If my bathroom were small this would not have worked at all.Great looking hamper. Very sturdy. Doesn't bulge out. I let gravity decide when the hamper is full vs forcing more clothes into it. If someone shoves clothes into it it may bulge out. I don't know. I just know mine is as strait filled with clothes as the day I bought it. Looks fairly contemporary which fits my style although I view it as transitional vs only contemporary. This means it may also look nice with traditional styling. Not sure though.It looks just like the photos (to me). If you like the photos you will like this hamper. Please ensure this is the size you need. I lucked out on placement. Others may not fair so well unless they are certain.Recommend you read the dimensions. Get a tape measure and see how it would fit. Great product.

After reading the reviews about poor packaging and damage to the hamper, we were a bit reluctant to purchase this, but decided to take a chance and go for it. It turned out to be a good decision. Although there is practically no protective packing in the box, ours arrived in good condition and ready to go.We like the large size, and the padded lid really helps dress it up. The metal edges seem very sturdy, so this should hold up to frequent use. The bottom is particle board, and I suppose wet laundry could damage it, but it's not a good idea to put wet laundry in any type of hamper or basket, so this shouldn't be an issue. This hamper should last a long time and we are very happy with it.

I like it because its so big and great for a family of 4! The lid is very heavy which is great.but scratches easily The finish is well made. I had no cons until the bottom broke after only a few months of use. The espresso color is rich and it looks like a high end hamper but some design flaws that made the bottom break. The seam is too weak.

I did quite a bit of online searching before I decided to purchase this Lamont Home Carter Family Size Wicker Hamper. It is larger than the average hamper, made of paper wicker, has a sturdy, metal frame, padded vinyl lid & composite wood bottom.The inside is also painted in the chocolate color.The measurements are accurate.The paper wicker:wraps completely around the hamper (front, back & sides),is very smooth & won't snag your clothes;is airy so your clothes shouldn't mildew...but I always make sure the items I throw in a hamper are dry.I did a little bit of research on paper wicker & learned that in the past, furniture was made from it. Today it is used in bassinets & changing tables, lampshades, & hampers to name a few items.This well-built hamper is very attractive. Great value!Made in the USA!!!!
