Hercules 15620 Real-Tuff Heavy Duty PTFE Pipe Thread Sealant, White, 8 oz.

Generally, used on high pressure natural gas metal lines ( black pipe ). Used orange sealant. Used blue sealant, used black sealant, used thread tape, at 50 PSI on remote external oil cooler for air cooled 2332cc engine would leak at fittings. To create more space between high torque starter, and cooler, down sized from 72 plate to 48 plate cooler. Brand new cooler, same with brass fittings. 12 yrs with 72 plate, no leaks. Friend suggested using Hercules Real Tuff sealant. Read up. Liked what I read. Brush in can/bottle is stiff as an oid straw broom. Worthless. This stuff is thicker than cake frosting. A little bit, goes a long way. After using Brake Kleen and dry cloth to clean fittings, Used nitrile glove on hand, to dab a bit of sealant on male fitting. Using flare wrenches, tightened things up. Wiped excess sealant away. Took car for ride ... No leaks ... not a micro drop of oil. This stuff gets everywhere ! I used hand/body lotion mixed with liquid hand wash dish soap. The lotion makes a difference. Still have to work at picking and scrapping off skin and clothes. Product does what it promises to do.

I like this pipe dope because it goes on easy unlike the tape that ends up covering part of the pipe if you aren’t careful.

I tried for months to stop a steady drip of my price-pfister tub faucet. Replaced seats and stems. It still leaked. When I found this product I was skeptical because of the past failures using other products. Surprisingly, IT STOPPED MY LEAK. We didn’t have to call the plumber after all. So grateful for finding this product. It doesn’t disappoint.

This stuff is profoundly, utterly, in a different league than any of the Rector or Oatey dopes I've used in the past. Easy to apply, lubes and seals _flawlessly_ - including out of spec threads that stubbornly refuse to stop leaking no matter what other dopes I've tried. No cure time. Works on gases (I'm using for propane and air lines) and water (I'm using for that too), down to absurdly low temps you won't see outdoors on this planet (and I need it, it gets into the -50° range here). Flawlessly seals brass to polymer connections - or metal to metal, or poly to poly. It stays pliable, so you can unthread it, clean it up, and refit as needed, if you want to swap pipe around. It's thick and goes on easy, doesn't drip, but it will hitch a ride on your hands and tools - so have a rag handy. This stuff is incredible. Top performer! As long as they keep making this, I can't see myself ever using a different pipe dope for my needs. I'm completely sold on it.

Best pipe sealant we have used. It’s thick, stays pliable and we have very little leaks even without teflon tape. This is the only sealant we use.

I built a siphon to deliver water from a pond and needed a sealant for the 2" PVC threaded cap of the primer pipe. This sealant worked, but it's only been used for 1 week, so maybe an update in a few months. I wanted a sealant that would remain soft so I could remove the cap to reprime the siphon.

Great product, no tape that shreds and jams fittings, brush is included in can. Keep a rag handy it can get on your hands.
