It was a rainy Tuesday. The deluge of that day had been pounding my homestead for hours and the property was beginning to flood. Suddenly there was a break in the heavy, impregnated clouds and a sliver of sun shone down upon the oasis of dry decking. It was at that time the faithful carrier of dreams arrived, bringing with him joy and wonderment. I hurriedly dressed in skins that repelled the most horrific of weather and pushed through the small opportunity that God had given me to make it to the pick up location that was my front porch. Pushing myself to exhaustion I stumbled up the steps to behold the bounty that had been delivered. As I ripped into the cardboard that held my loot I gave a cry of relief as I actually gazed upon them for the first time! They were so much more than I could have asked for...Yes...these would do nicely.

There are a lot of very weird coaster patterns out there, and I was so thrilled when I found the octopus ocean design. I'd never tried ceramic coasters before, and the price was good, so I gave it a shot.First thing is that my husband was simply thrilled. A nice bonus. Our satisfaction with the coasters has been high. The coaster is very smooth and pleasant to the touch. The water absorption ability is a little weird and magical. And, the cork bottom is nice and smooth on the table, but no so grippy that I can't slide my mug around on the table.So, in summary, we really like these coasters. We've had them a couple weeks, and one of us still often mentions how much we like them.They arrived in perfect condition: no scrapes, chips, etc.

I had previously owned a set of thirsty-stone type coasters, and the last surviving one on the end table had finally broken. I'm an avid SCUBA diver and love octopodes , and when these came up in my search, I had to have them. They are nicely over-sized to accommodate my large, blown glass highball glasses from Mexico, quite well. They also work well for wide-based martini, wine, and margarita glasses! The round design is quite attractive and their cork backing works well to maintain traction on the wooden and glass end tables, on which they are used. The printing of the coasters is also consistent across all six; and I love that there are six, since one always breaks (I have cats in the house!). So far none have fallen to the tile floor, but these seem more durable than my previous set, which had a more granular finish.

This is the first set of coasters I've ever bought (finally embracing adulthood!) and I wasn't sure what to expect or look for, but I'm so glad I made the right choice. I love the cork on the bottom so they don't scratch anything and the hard ceramic-like surface feels good to the touch and makes them seem classy. The size is great because it can fit smaller glasses or larger cups. I haven't had any sweaty glasses pool water at the bottom like I thought might happen. I love the design too and the colors are subtle and varied so that they literally blend in any room in my house. I think I'm going to get more!

I purchased these coasters for a few reasons: they were made of stone, the price was very reasonable for 6, and I thought the design was fun and original. It didn't bother me that they didn't have a container; the best way to get people to use a coaster is to have them already placed where they will be needed! They came very well packed; each one was individually bubble-wrapped to guard against breaking. The colors are really lovely against the stone and, again, a really original pattern that I have gotten comments on. So far they have done well with absorption and we haven't had issues with the coasters sticking to glasses or insulated tumblers with icy normal beverages inside, including slushy drinks.

Nice coasters, sucks up all the sweat from ice-water glasses

I had bought some "absorbent" coasters online before. They were very pretty, and looked expensive, but they did not work. When I sat a glass of ice down on the coasters, water leaked out onto my tables. I got in the habit of putting a doubled up napkin on the coaster before I sat my glass down. Trust me, it was not so pretty.I read the reviews before I ordered these coasters from Amazon. I hoped they would be better than the other ones I ordered. They are great! I no longer need a napkin and they really soak up the water. Best I have ever had!

Awesome coasters. My wife wasn't a big fan of the design, but I thought it would fit right in with the theme in our living room. We received them and have used them for about a month - these are definitely absorbent! We've had glasses of water and ice on these coasters with a lot of condensation and it has been mostly absorbed. Makes it really easy to clean them as well since they don't stain easily like our previous stainless steel coasters.Really think the design is neat and my wife has changed her mind about these coasters - she loves them now.
