Learning Resources knows how to make learning fun and this Motioneering set has so many ways to engage your little one while developing skills without them even realising it! This would make a great gift for any little one who loves to build and is bright and colourful enough to be engaging and fun. You get 56 pieces grouped into bags that aren't re-sealable. Every piece is well made and are brightly coloured in orange, yellow, blue, green and grey. They fit well together and have no sharp edges to the, They create 8 machines - Catapult Pendulum Windmill Crank Propeller Triple Windmill Tilt a Whirl Goal All of which are described in the guidebook that comes with it. I love that it challenges little ones to use their problems solving skills and develop coordination and use imaginative play too. It is certainly something that will be parent led in our house at the moment but I can see older little ones enjoying this too. Great construction set with learning and fun in mind.

This is a great learning toy. It is fun to play with and it make children think and engage with their logic and critical-thinking skills. In essence, it is a building toy but what you build has a bit of thought behind it. Your children are following instructions putting things together that eventually al work smoothly and move. You can build a trebuchet and a catapult amongst others. The great thing is that the ‘instructions’ are not step by step. You see the picture, it tells you what pieces you’ll need and then it gives you general instructions on what to do. This makes the child know what they’re aiming for and they have to think and figure out how to put it together. It is not too hard but will keep them entertained for a while. It is quite rewarding once the structure is built and fully working! A lot of fun whilst learning at a very fair price, would recommend.

Another great stem activity by Learning Resources. You get eight challenges which is a great start. With fifty six pieces there are plenty of machines you can build. Build the machines and make them move.. good fun.

This a STEM-related building game where there are 56 pieces can be re-arranged to represent something. There are 8 building-themed activities. Things I liked: • great repeat playability • fun for kids • vibrant colours Overall, this makes a great cognitive learning tool for my 4yo child.

This set arrives in a full colour printed box measuring approx 20cm x 21cm x 5cm. It would be easy to wrap & would make a great gift for children who love to build. As there are no red pieces ( there are a couple of distinctively shaped orange ones) this would be good for any child with red/green colour blindness if you were going to set tasks relating to colour. It does have blue & yellow pieces included though. All the components feel very solid & as if they would stand up to rough handling by 5 year olds apart from one - which they call the 'rotation post'. It looks perfect for poking someone in the eye & I could easily snap it. The pieces are mostly in bright primary colours although some are in a light grey which seemed a strange choice to me. Pieces arrive in separate bags for each part type - the bags are not recloseable so once opened you will probably just end up jumbling them together back into the box as we have. It comes with a small fold out colour printed booklet which includes 8 builds: Catapult Pendulum Windmill Crank Propeller Triple Windmill Tilt a Whirl Goal Each project shows a listing of the parts used & an image of the pieces built into the finished item but does not show the steps of the builds. There are written instructions but I do not think most 5 year olds would be able to read them without a lot of help, although they could possibly build the objects by copying the picture. It also asks each time what you could add to change the design, what happens when you change e.g. the angle of the arm connection (on the catapult) - questions an adult would really need to be involved in. I do really like this set, but I would not recommend it for independent play as it is really aimed at parent/teacher led learning.

Good fun for kids. My kids were very excited to play with this learning recourses. Good exercises for creativity. Also need adults help if kids are smaller. Nice colours, good strong plastic. All instructions included. Only negative point - after using more times some details starts becoming wonky, specially thin bits, but a part of that great toy.

Bought this for a STEM room at a school, it works great and the children find it easy to handle and they have fun with it. Good quality, I recommend.

Using the mind and ingenuity to build all the things. Great to add on to, quiet play except the quick come look what I made.
