Night light
My son has not been diagnosed with autism yet but this definitely helps to calm him down especially at bedtime. He is also afraid of the dark and this helps him not scream throughout the night. I would say a down wins after the first night it started making noises wwhichdoesnt seem to bother anyone but me. but overall we love this light and it does work great.

Very Relaxing!
The light pattern really helps you relax. Great for meditating or trying to wind down before bed. Its small, lightweight and fits just about anywhere the only downfall is the cord for the speaker occasionally crackles if tapped so I find just using my phone/tablet better. Now get this, curl up in a dark room with some relaxing music and let the swirls of the light ease your mind for day! Anpress Blue Ocean Daren Waves Night Light Projector Speaker Lamp

Only half works...music feature doesn't work, but the water effect is pretty
Cons: The price isn't fitting the quality. There is an aux cord that came with it and the Amazon listing details mention music compatibility. However, I plugged in the aux cord to play sleep music for my son and was disappointed to find out the speaker doesn't work. When the light rotates to make the water projection effect it makes a squeaking noise (I thought it was a cricket sound effect). The cricket noise is actually a positive because it is kind of peaceful - at the same time, for something that costs as much as this does, it shouldn't have defects. It's cheaply built and feels like paperweight.Pro: there are different projection color options. The water effect looks like sunlight shining on rippling water in a pond. It's very pretty. There is an unintentional cricket type sound that comes from it, which my son and I find to be peaceful. My son says he really likes it and that is the most important thing to me.

On the fence about this purchase.
This is not a high quality item and I thought it had built-in music/white noise features, which is not the case. The issues with plugging your phone into the machine are; you have to leave your phone in the room for the duration of how long you want it to play, which is not ideal for light sleepers, and your volume obviously needs to be on for the music to play which allows phone notifications to come through...again, not ideal for light sleepers, which is what I'm dealing with. The light itself needs to be a bit higher than your child, as the light on top that illuminates the ceiling is bright. I placed something over the top strategically to light some of the light through but that does hinder the overall effect. That said, my child has a tough time going to sleep (he has "FOMO" --Fear Of Missing Out--LOL) and this really seems to do the trick! So...I'm on the fence as to whether or not I will keep this or replace for a better quality version.

Calming
My 8 year old loves this when he is going to bed, it helps to calm him down from the day. There is no remote control with this product. The only negative is it makes a tick noise when changing colors-- luckily my son loves repeated noises so it is not an issue for us.

Makes loud horrible squeaky sound. Cheap quality. Don’t buy!
I bought this for my 12 yo autistic son. He loves the lights and how they’re projected on the ceiling. My son is highly sensitive and is always self stimulating. The problem is that the lamp makes a horrible and loud squeaky sound as the lights rotate that make it impossible for my son to listen due to his high sensitive hearing. He even starts heating his head or crying and covering his ears. so we cannot use the lamp. The sound is so loud that we can hear it across room. So if you are planing to buy the lap for you or you kids or anything to relax and help them sleep and calm, don’t. You will end up having the same issue as me. The lamp seems very cheap and is not good quality I’ll guess that’s why it makes that squeaky noise. Is not price worthy.

auto shut off
very nice. it puts this light show on the wall and ceiling that is very nice !!!!! It doesn't have a remote control, which is fine. I bought one for myself and enjoy it enough to where I bought another one as a gift.

some "features" simply not there... cheap.
It's neat. The light display is pretty. But it's suuuuuper cheap construction. So much that the movement of the pattern gets a little jerkey at times, and it's developed a click/squeak at a particular point in the rotation. Not so soothing for a kid or an adult. Also the whole "music" feature is worthless, unless you have an old iPod with a headphone jack and you don't mind leaving it attached to the thing. One particular thing that's advertised simply is not there: The ability to adjust the angle. It LOOKS like you would be able to tilt it, even says so on the box, but it's completely fixed position. If you want to tilt it, wedge a book under one side. That's false advertising and not okay.
