A dryer for better living. I mean it!
This product is one of those rare purchases that has improved the quality of workaday life. I enjoy the satisfaction in making a common task easier. This clothesline (I'm waxing about a clothesline?!) works well, it's solidly engineered for the task. It easily deploys and folds away so doesn't clutter the landscape, even a landscape where there's room to stretch. This dryer seems to handle all the laundry I throw at it. I can fit 3 loads, if some of the stuff is on hangers. That includes sheets. I live in a dry climate so I rarely have to leave a lot of wet laundry hanging, it dries so quickly. But I can toss a comforter, small area rug on it, and I've used it as a basket to hold bed pillows that need airing out and some sunshine. It's a terrific item, and paid for itself quickly in reduced machine dryer use. It's very sturdy and good for large households with a lot of laundry. At the same time, totally compact. If I have any criticism, it's that the Cordura cover is not as user-friendly as the dryer is. I like to leave all my clothespins on the dryer, and when folded, the cover doesn't fit as well with all the clothespins, and in any scenario it's difficult to snap on. I'd appreciate an improved cover. There is a metal cover available in the EU, I think. But it would probably not fit over my clothes pins. Nonetheless, when company is coming over, I can cover it well enough. Do yourself a favor and buy it.* Update: Three years later, my husband and I are still delighted with the functionality of this dryer. It is almost always deployed, and is only folded up when company comes over. We have unrelenting UV eleven months of the year or more. This exposure is unmerciful on various plastics, rubbers, fabrics, paints, and hard goods like chairs. But this folding clothesline is a freaking champ. Very hardy in the sun, wind, rain. No parts that rot or rust or mold. I'm very pleased.** Second update 2021, almost to the day, 7 years after purchase: Something broke. It was the little part that holds the rig snapped open. Brabantia REPLACED THE ENTIRE DRYER, even though we only requested a part. What a wonderful company. They have my full appreciation and loyalty. (I bought their ironing board, which is also super-excellent.) As it happened, the line the clothes hang on was also in need of replacement. I bought some line, but found upon closer inspection that buying the replacement line from Brabantia would have been better, they include the little clips, it's not a simple matter of restringing with any line.Brabantia included the hard protective dryer cover, which is quite handsome, but will indeed not close with my clothespins on the line, so I remove them to properly stow the dryer. But wow, it looks nice, and functions so much better than the soft cover. I wish all the tools I use to complete daily tasks were as satisfying and functional. Kudos to a company that treats customers right--a rare attribute in today's marketplace.

Love it. We installed it on the corner of our deck so it gets more wind. Works fantastic.
We bought it a while ago when it was $50 more, but no regrets. When it is not used and unfolded you hardly notice it. After I take the laundry off I always right away fold it back against the wall and put the cover over it. It looks like new still. It is very sturdy and has lots of line space. We installed it on the corner of the deck where it gets more wind and is out of the way. Just today I thought again how much I appreciate this drying solution and so save on electricity! Love it!

Works well
It was a little pricey, I think, but if you have a limited space (I hung mine in the clearance between my house and the fence between my and my neighbor's yard), and you know what you want, you will spend the money, place it, use it and never regret it (or so I hope!). Installation went well. Sturdiness is solid. The only thing that the instructions did not explain well (at least, to this reader) was how to make sure it wouldn't collapse and how to release the mechanism to close. To open it, pull the handle toward you and it will extend. The propping arm needs to click into place, and I give it a little knock on the arm from below. It clicks into place. If you don't do this, it will collapse like an umbrella when any weight from clothes are placed on it. Device ain't broken -- just not clicked in place. To release when done with the lines, pull the HANDLE upwards. It is not difficult and takes very little pressure. It will click out of place and then you can pull the handle down to fully collapse the umbrella with ease. I was happy to pay a little extra for made in Europe quality and design, although I wld have preferred made in the USA. I've had mine in operation for four months so far.

wish I've had this years ago
There is a lot of laundry done at our household and I'd say about a forth of it does not go in the dryer (bathing suites, synthetic fabrics like gym clothes, tights, bras etc.). For years I've been using a folding rack that I'd open in the house or outside (only to find it tip over to the ground with a slight wind).I've used this folding clothes line for over two months now and had to post something - it is SO AMAZINGLY DESIGNED! This is one product that's done so right!! I wish I've had it years ago! It holds a lot of items at a time and easily folds away when not in use. I love that it has a cover so it looks really neat all the time!

I love it. Mine did arrive missing a couple peices
*update - 5 years later it's still going strong. One of the pins has wiggled loose a couple times, but it's not incredibly difficult to get it back in. I use this weekly, year round, in the high dessert. It is exposed to intense sun, high winds, and freezing temps and hardly shows wear. I highly recommend it.I love it. Mine did arrive missing a couple peices. One is the "hood" piece and then also a couple square pieces that are depicted in the "packaging contents" of the instructions, but I don't see where those parts were supposed to go so I am not sure if they were important or not! Installation would have been a lot easier with two people, but I managed to do it on my own. I love that it comes with a cover so it looks nice and tidy when not in use.

Such a perfect gadget
Our new deck wiped out the space for our old traditional clothes line. I wanted something that I could keep on the deck but wouldn’t take up serious real estate. This thing fit the bill! Easy to install (took 15 minutes or less - use the template on the side of the box), and easy to use. Can hold about two average-sized laundry loads and has held up to the Kansas winds. Cover is easy to place. Highly recommend.

Worth the money
Although it is somewhat strange looking, it works great. I have it on the porch and when it is folded down and covered you hardly know it is there. There is room for tons of items. The cords seem sturdy enough to last. It is a little difficult to mount, but we got it done. At first we couldn’t get it fully open, but it was because some of the cords were tangled. Once we got them all straightened out it works perfectly.
