This alpaca poncho is a great addition to your winter wardrobe. It is VERY soft and warm. Worth the extra money. Best I can tell, it deviates from the Clint Eastwood movie poncho in only two ways: the direction of the slit for the opening and the dense, unbroken strand of tassle along two edges of this garment. To me, hardly worth mentioning- unless, for some reason, you require a perfect match. The pattern is the same. But forget the movie stuff for a moment. This is a just a beautiful, luxurious, well-crafted piece of wardrobe to wrap yourself in come cold weather- especially those of you who enjoy riding horses in fall or winter. You can easily see why it is as functional in it's most famous role as it is memorable. Or, you might just want to turn the ceiling fan up to high and play cowboy drifter while screening yet another recounting of the travels and trials of Blondie.This alpaca poncho is extremely well-made. My sincere compliments to the artisan- ma'am, you do truly exceptional work. Unlike most cheaper ponchos, this one covers you as it should. On shorter cowpersons it will hang quite long, front and back. Go ahead, toss it over one shoulder. It'll stay put. The "sleeve" extends well past halfway the length of my forearm.Lastly, I want to say that this is just such a wonderful piece to receive as a present, as I did. It is the sort of gift that will be treasured for a long, long time- along with very fond memories of the giver.

This is a very nice serape. It is too nice actually. It is really meant for indoor lounging or mild outdoor use. Extremely soft and light, but keeps you perfectly warm. I'm going to eventually order an outdoor "beater" version because I don't want to mess this one up.

This garment is very useful for a man. It is warm and comfortable. It is easy to wear and leavesthe arms and hands free to hold a cup of coffee or writing pen. It is very soft, not scracy. We orderedthis because it looked cool, but it is more than cool. It works to solve the cold problem.

Love the quality and the fabrics are softer than you would think the only recommendation I have is that I would have done the slit for your head horizontal instead of the vertical to make it more authentic

The quality and craftsmanship of this poncho is excellent! I purchased this and another slightly less expensive option to compare. This was worth the extra fistful of dollars. Both are good quality alpaca wool ponchos but this one takes the cake. For a few dollars more, you can get an authentic poncho that looks like it came right out of a spaghetti western. It's wider and shorter than the other option, and the neck hole is slightly smaller, which gives it a great fit. Clint Eastwood's poncho doesn't go past his knees and neither does this one. It feels less like a blanket with and more like a piece of clothing. You won't regret it.
