Very good horseradish.
Not as strong as the hot horseradish. It tastes very good and I believe that persons who do not like the sharpness of horseradish and not as mild as horseradish sauces. Very nice tasting and goes well in my dishes that I cook. A smooth texture, smells great and the heat level is a good medium to hot, does not leak through the lid.

A root by any other name...
If you are looking for horseradish you're out of luck. For prepared horseradish this could be what you want. I did not want prepared. I like preparing my own version. With that said, I can use this until I grow my own. Where I used to live, I could get the root which was some potent stuff. Some fearless person dug this root and decided to eat it. My guess is that there was a dare, a wager or a trade involved. The stuff in this plastic container is fragrent. I don't eat it that often, but I once ate some lamb (Irish) stew that was cooked in a creamy horseradish sauce/gravy. It was served on St. Patrick's day in the casino employee dinining room (EDR). I didn't recognize the flavor, but it was outstanding. Eating the huge amount of horseradish. Caused me much discomfort. I would buy this brand again until I can grow my own when the weather warms up.

Whatever happened to horseradish?
It's a little more vinegary than I'd like, but considering I haven't been able to find horseradish locally in any form other than "creamy hot horseradish sauce" this definitely scratches the itch. You used to be able to get whole horseradish root in the produce section, ground root in a jar, and prepared horseradish, whatever happened to all that? I will definitely buy this again. Delicious on a roast beef sandwich on rye with Swiss and sliced kosher dills.

Barely any flavor and it's not spicy at all!
The packaging looks great. The label is nice and professional, and it's sealed well. Unfortunately, that's the end of the positive comments ☹️. Unfortunately, what's inside the bottle has barely any scent, barely any taste, and ABSOLUTELY NO HEAT WHATSOEVER! I love horseradish and I would have bought the Atomic brand if it had been in a smaller jar; Atomic is the super-hot brand the casinos use in the restaurants in Las Vegas. It's so good that, even though it's never been advertised, it's a top seller simply because whenever the customers ask what brand it is the Waiters and Chefs tell them it's Atomic But even though most reviews I read said this product had no burn, a couple of them said it was good and spicy, so I took a chance. Those people who said it was spicy must have purchased something else entirely... Normally when someone opens the lid of a bottle of horseradish just the scent alone usually causes their eyes to water. But, even though horseradish is listed as the very first ingredient on the label, even eating it straight, there's only a slight hint of flavor and no burn. I had cooked up a bowl of rice for lunch and decided to pour almost ¼ of the bottle of horseradish into the rice. There was finally a slight taste of horseradish but still no burn whatsoever. That amount of horseradish should have lit my sinuses on fire, and had my eyes watering uncontrollably... Instead, all it did was moisten the slightly dry rice ☹️. Not even a single tear or sniffle. To be quite frank, I cannot see a good reason to keep selling this product in your market place. This product does not live up to the quality of most of your other products! Most people who buy horseradish do so only because they like the reaction horseradish gives you. Nobody buys horseradish hoping it'll be mild and tasteless... Unless my bottle (and the bottles of the ones the other customers said had no heat) were flukes, I cannot imagine anyone being satisfied after receiving this product... It will DEFINITELY BE ATOMIC BRAND NEXT TIME I ORDER DESPITE THE SIZE OF THE BOTTLE!

Alarmingly mild.
Whoa this is CRAZY MILD. DON'T BUY THIS if you're looking for the taste of horseradish. It has practically zero kick, literally ginger paste has more kick than this- with ginger paste being about a 6.5/10, grey poupon dijon mustard being about an 8/10, and this DUD being a 3/10. Why even put it in a bottle? You could've just sold me air, and I would've at least got a laugh out of it. Why have a company at all, Bookbinder's?? Hmm?? Pretty disappointing.
