Good for sparks only. It didn't prevent the heat from burning the table that I placed on it the mat and on top of it the barbeque stand.

It does what it’s meant to do and has saved the floor in my hot tent from getting burnt more than once

This is a great product to place underneath a fire pit a chimney or even used as a fire blanket heavy duty extremely durable soft and folds to a small compact space

This thing is great. I've dropped so much roasting hot coals on this thing with no material reaction. That being said I do not know if there is any heat transfer through the material. But I got one of those fire "proof" mats and that this has melted into an unrecognized mass. And I do have scorch marks on my wood floors from where the mat was NOT on the floor
