Yum!
This is one of those teas that I initially didn't think I liked*. After I finished the first cup, I mentally added this tea to the growing list of teas that I don't need to reorder. Then I had my second cup, and am so glad I didn't give the tin away after the first cup! Yum! Very smooth and unique. It has layers of flavors that include a smokiness but under that is a little sweetness. Not bitter at all.For me, this is not an everyday tea--it is a special treat on a stormy day type of tea. I will order this again. If you like strong teas with complex flavors, I think this is worth buying. I'm glad I tried it!*The other tea by Harney that I initially didn't think I liked is the Vanilla Comoro decaf. I was hooked on the second cup. I think part of the problem is that I started drinking both teas when they were still too hot. The flavors come out more (at least for me) when the tea has cooled just a bit.

Delicious, unique Tea.
The smokey scent and flavor is a little strong , like when I brew it I try not to smell it because its not appetizing to me but once you add a good splash of milk or cream it is a very pleasant experience! I find myself enjoying this tea a couple times a week. I consider myself on a tea journey as I made the switch from coffee and highly recommend giving this smokey tea a chance if you want to have something a little out of the norm!

Definitely NOT for me!
Apologies to anyone that actually drinks this, but without a doubt this is the worst tea I have ever purchased. I couldn't even get past the horrid smell to even try to make a cup. It went immediately in the trash. Yes, I know, "you didn't even try it", but the smell alone was so bad there is no way I was going to smell up the house to give it a try. I order a lot of tea from this company and have enjoyed it all, so I am surprised at this tin.

Mixed Feelings (updated)
It smells great, like bourbon. I can taste the bourbon and smokey flavour. I'm cannot taste it there's actually any tea in here.I'm gave it another attempt, putting this one 50/50 with a standard black tea. Result was OK, but nothing exciting. The biggest reason I ordered this was for the tin. The tin arrived dented. The tin is decorative, of course, and not meant to be a shipping container, of course.Bummer. I really like leaving good reviews. I'll give this a 3, since it was an attempt at something creative, but I have no idea when, or if, I'll drink the rest of this. I might try this company again some day, maybe with something that's not so avant garde (people seem to like them online.) I reeeeally wish I gave one of their British style teas a shot (they look so good!)Oh well! Tea is always fun anyway. ❤️Update: I found dunking one of these bags for 30 seconds into a regular cup of black tea gives it a nice taste. Really good actually. Did it with my standard Yorkshire Gold, steeping for 4 minutes, then 30 seconds with this bourbon one, and I like the taste quite well. I don't drink tea with milk, and I use very filtered water. Try it out!

Decent but pricey
Decent quality. Tastes OK. Pricey for what you get.

So good! In my "top 3" and I drink a LOT of tea!
I've ordered this flavor several times now, it is one of my favorites.I find the flavor unique (in a good way!) compared to most other tea flavors.I had previously tried a full Lapsang Souchong tea by another brand, and I did not care for it, the "smoky" profile was TOO strong for my taste. But this blend by Harney & Sons is perfect for me. You definitely taste the smokiness, but it's just the right amount in my opinion, the other flavor ingredients blend well with it and seem to keep the smoky flavor from being too prominent.I love the smell, it make me think of campfires and brings up fond memories of camping with family when I was younger.

Love this tea. Unique flavor and great tin.
Love this tea and purchase it on repeat. Harder to find in stores than it used to be. The tins are really nice and can be reused as storage containers. These have the mesh teabags rather than the paper type ones. The only issue is the string is really short so you have to cut it off in order to let the teabag steep in a larger teacup.

A bit of an acquired taste.
After my first sip I thought I was going to hate it. It tasted very smoky, but as it cooled a bit and I sipped some more I got more used to the smokiness and grew to really enjoy it (the splash of milk probably helped too).I can probably get the hints of vanilla if I really search for it but its definitely subtle, smokiness is the main flavor of this tea, but i dont think in a bad way. I might try steeping this with their Vanilla Cormoro tea to give it a stronger vanilla flavor because it is good, I just think I would like a stronger vanilla taste to it.I dont think this is an every day tea by any means and won't be replacing my English breakfast with it, but definitely will be good this Autumn and winter on cool and snowy mornings.
