I own three of these and they really do work as described as long as you follow their instructions. In a room which is 14ft x 14ft with a 9ft ceiling that is insulated with 1.5 inches of styrofoam and 2 large windows I have constantly achieved 36-37 degrees only opening the door when necessary. In smaller settings I’ve achieved even lower temperatures.

I am an avid home brewer and had always wanted a walk in cooler for dispensing my beers. In researching used walk in coolers they were between $4k & $7k. Pretty tough to justify that cost. The other issue was that most of them were customer pick-up, so the work of building my own didn't seem like much more work. What I ended up with was far better than commercial coolers plus functionality you would only find on extremely high end commercial smart products. The folks over at CoolBot have tons of information on their website to help ensure you get the results you are looking for. From ac equipment brand and sizing to best practices for construction and insulation. This product is really best suited for someone that wants extreme functionality at a low cost and are willing to put in a little extra leg work. The big upside for me was that I was able to design my cold room around the space I was working on instead of making my space work around the cold room. When I originally built my cold room, they did not have a web enabled CoolBot version. I had an ac unit malfunction, the control board went bad and the relay stuck in the closed position so the ac unit ran constantly. The temp dropped to 3 degrees F. I didn’t even know it could do that. My original concern was that I wouldn’t be able to get it cold enough. Well In this case, it got too cold and I ruptured some stuff. I didn’t notice for several days that it had failed. It was a heck of a mess. The folks at CoolBot helped me troubleshoot what was going on and how to fix it, even though it was my ac that failed and not their controller. They let me know they were working on a WiFi version. I got one as soon as it came out. It is amazing. Even though I haven’t had a day of trouble since the freezing incident, I find having a unit that will send me a text if something goes wrong is amazing piece of mind. I included a cell phone screen shot of the control interface, it is sleek and simple to use form anywhere. It's really a set and forget it, especially that the email/text alerts let me know something, only when I need to know something. This has been a hot summer here in Texas and my son started to go in the cold room to cool off (not what I built it for) one day he left the cold room door open. I got a text at work that it had gone above the upper limit, so I called my wife to check on it and he had left the door wide open. What I am storing isn't that sensitive to getting warm, but if it were, this safe guard would have saved me much more than what I paid for the controller. My concern is now it getting to cold, but I'm covered either way. Love the product and everyone I’ve talked to over at CoolBot.

Installed with a Daikin 1ton Minisplit. Works great! Probably wouldn't be ideal for every situation but for light-medium use walk in coolers looking to average just below 40° this is a terrific, economical alternative to a traditional refrigeration system. Please note on Daikin anyway, make sure you place the CoolBot heater wire & the minisplit head primary heat sensor onto the back of the small control board located behind the small square removable panel at the bottom right side of the head unit, AND BE SURE to insulate well with electrical tape or similar (see photo) We had a little trouble acheiving our target temperature until we figured this out. Installation manuals are not very clear on this we found out the hard way. Overall, a great solution! If you need help having one installed in the Southeast US contact Refrigeration Rescue to see if we can help!

veryeffective.it cooled my cold storage room, in less than 5 hours in a very hot day... easy to follow instructions and worked exactly like it claimed.

This product was a little more complicated to setup than the quick installation guide suggested, in my case I had to fiddle with the fins setting to prevent the unit from icing up, but no damage done and now the unit is working perfectly !
