Soft Touch Collars - Leather Padded Dog Collar, Custom Handmade Hand Tooled - Black, Large

I've been meaning to write this review for a while. We love these collars. We have a 120 lb female cane corso rescue and 110 lb golden retriever, Husky & German Shepherd rescue. They are active, crazy and rambunctious... and very rough on collars. We also live in Cascade Foothills in Pacific Northwest, so these collars see daily rain 9 months of the years with occasional snow in winter and triple digits in summer. They hike and even swim with these collars on. I should say our beasts, who can soar over couches in one leap, are very rough on collars. Their favorite activity is to grab the other by their collar and shake. Other collars had failed. Our CC also has skin issues and allergies and is a puller with no recall, so we needed thick, but soft and natural materials that give us peace of mind to container our beastie So we bought them these collars in November 2020, two years ago. They have and are still comfy and secure. We do not use them for walks, but more to hold or pull them back. They wear them 18 hrs a day, only taken off at night. As some suggested in previous reviews, we used mink oil/saddle soap to protect them from water and cracking. I did it religiously every few weeks the first year and they looked good as new. I did stop oiling the second year, and the pink collar only started to rub and look less nice. The pink finish is not as durable as the brown. It is still perfectly serviceable and only cosmetic. We still decided to replace, so she looks cute as our puppy princess. The brown collar is still holding strong. On the inside, I showed pics of some gouging. That was not normal wear and tear. It's from our CC grabbing him by the collar and shaking as they play. It is still serviceable and strong even as metal tags have been shorn by their rough housing. We actually decided not to replace his brown collar because it still works and the cosmetic issues are on the inside of the collar. Some failings: I would not trust the small loop by buckle to hold tags. Our pink collar lost that loop pretty early on. We put our tags on the strong loop at the back of their neck, opposite the buckle. We also can attest to strength during walk since we use a gentle leader for our boy and prong collar for our girl since they are intense pullers, despite training. Still holding them back by collars, they still are.solid. They also do not stink like our old collars with man made materials. I highly recommend! Very durable, sturdy and excellent craftsmanship for giant dogs that need comfort, style and secure collars.

Our girl is ~60lbs of loveable muscly pit bull who loved her rough and tumble play with our German Shepherd (RIP Kido). We ordered our 1st Soft Touch collar (turquoise large) 2 years ago to replace our pitty’s leather collar from another company, due to the original collar leather lining starting to shred and some stitching getting loose. The soft touch collar has been through 2 years of rough play, rolling in all kinds of things, pulling us on long hikes etc. and has stood the test of time. All stitching is still tight, no signs of tearing of any of the leather and all hardware (I’d tag loop, buckles, d ring) are still very secure and functional. I have been so impressed with the durability that I recently ordered another collar, this one in the raspberry pink. The inner liner is a soft baby pink and the outer leather is...I guess raspberry pink. I was hesitant to order pink but I am glad I did. Love the color. It helps give my “tough girl” that tiny touch of feminine/softness look without overdoing it and still having the extra durability needed for her activity and security. Bonus....These collars are less than 1/2 the price I paid for her original leather collar, yet just as beautiful and durable.. Collar sizing: Large collar has 4 holes for sizing. 3rd hole in, is perfect size for our pitty girl. The width of the collar is perfect for functionality and her comfort.

The pink collar is perfect on my little pit bull. The size is exactly what we expected, its soft lining makes it pliable and gentle on her skin.

Giving this four stars until I see how it holds up but I feel it will last a long time. The exterior leather (dark pink) side is a quality leather that I believe will age well and allow it to become “her” collar. I hadn't spent this much on a collar for my heeler/lab mix but she just turned three and done growing so I feel it was money well spent. I was concerned upon ordering that the black piping on the edges was to conceal a seam between the light pink padded interior and the dark pink exterior side but that's not the case. The piping somehow causes a smooth transition and isn't a glued down piece of cheap leather. My only concern is how well the padded side will hold up over the summer. The buckle and ring are of good quality. I ordered the large as she is only about 65 lbs but she has big dog neck. It fit her perfectly and it seems to be comfortable. If it wasn't in sure she would let me know. I really like the pink because she's often mistaken for a male but she's our “big little girl” and the pink looks great on her. The craftsmanship that went into this collar is such good quality and at such a low price. So sturdy and well made, it's beautiful! It's exactly what I was looking for, for my 78lb female Pit Bull/American Bulldog mix. I highly recommend this collar. Just make sure to measure the neck and if you have a growing pup definitely go a collar up to give room for growth. My dog's neck is over 19 inches at the base of the skull and about 20 at the thickest part of her neck. I bought the large for 18 to 21 INCHES and she fits comfortable at the last notch, but I could put it on the second to the last notch and it would still be a decent fit, where I could slip 2 fingers in. I just like her collars a little looser do to some issues she has with her neck. This collar is sturdy and tough, but it is nice and soft where I can leave it on her. It's not rubbing or cutting into her neck like some leather collars can do. It's soft and padded. If you're hesitating to buy this collar. Don't. I'm very happy I purchased this. I will update with pics in a couple days.

This collar is absolutely beautiful. It is hard wearing the 2 tone colour is nice and I like the fact it has a hoop on the back of the collar for the lead. Excellent quality and well priced

Had to send this back but only as my Staffie is huge and unfortunately the collar didn't fit him, however this is a lovely collar well made and comfortable an d was sad it didn't, fit as it's made beautifully and the company have really nice products. Would definitely consider ordering again from this company!
