It was accurate for me. I measured my ring size with it, ordered a ring online and it fits perfectly. I hope this helps.

Q: Could I bake this in the oven at like 275 for 10-20 minutes? I want to make clay rings

It's amuminum so I don't think a temperature that low would hurt it at all. You should be aware that the mandrel has a recessed groove in both sides with sizing measurments on it so it's not perfectly round if that matters.
