I bought this book for using it during my recent trip in the South of India. It was a very good guide, with many details and maps.

I used this book for my recent trip to southern India. It is very up to date and informative. Glad I took along on the trip.

It contains A lot of valuable information about South India. India is changing a lot, it is not easy to stay up2date.

Intensive information. Helped make a wonderful trip

Very thorough compendium of travel information for the southern third of the Indian subcontinent.

I bought it for my Kindle, and while I think the content was fine, it really did not reproduce well on the Kindle--the maps did nnot come out in color and it was too hard to navigate through the book--a hard copy would have worked much better, but it would have been too heavy to bring.

Great info, as expected. It’s still worth getting a lonely planet for your trip, despite having a lot of info on the Internet available these days.

I was not disappointed. The usual helpful great advice.

You can't beat Lonely Planet guides. I am getting inspired and planning my journey now...! I do yearn for more colour photos but I can get them online and wouldn't sacrifice all that info for big pics.

Ich habe den Guide für einen Kerala-Aufenthalt gekauft. Dadurch dass Kerala sogar im Titel erwähnt wird, obwohl es sowieso zu Süd-Indien gehört, habe ich gehofft dass im Vergleich zu anderen Büchern mehr darüber enthalten ist. Das hat sich leider nicht bewahrheitet. Deshalb auch der Abzug bei den Sternen.

Tres bon livre

I recently traveled to Mumbai and Madurai/the surrounding area and this book was extremely helpful in planning my trip. Highly recommend for anyone traveling to South India.

Easy descriptions and great local tips. Book is free of advertisements and also it is light weight so that it is easy to carry around. It also have good accommodation list of all budgets.
