Excellent Combo!
My wife wanted to learn how to fish with bait-casting reels and rods, but didn’t really want to jump into the more expensive products until she became proficient. This was an excellent buy to start her off with learning to use bait-casters and now she fishers with her new Shimano Curado rod and DC reel. Now she keeps this combo as a backup and still uses it when we go camping and backing. These are easy to break down and keep on the side pocket of her backpack when we go hiking to find fishing spots.

Amazing customer service
Developed an issue with my reel, contacted customer service and they sent me a replacement. Amazing in comparison to other "customer service" experiences! (btw love the reel and rod combo)

Lower
This lower and upper do not match. Lower cracked. A replacement was sent. I have yet to test it out.

Very disappointed. Waste of money.
Bought this as a gift for my son. Drag star and drag do not function well. His frustration was that while it’s rated for 18 lbs, after half a pound, the line would start to come out with the drag star tightened all the way. He’s tried endlessly to fix it. Watched videos. Sadly it’s just junk and a waste of money.

Top pole didn’t fit intoBottom piece
Strange that they didn’t fit together to make a full rod. Maybe quality control is lacking.
