Compact and Reliable Dash Cam
I’ve purchased this dash cam twice, and it continues to impress me with its performance. The compact design makes it easy to install without obstructing my view, and it captures clear video quality, both during the day and at night. The automatic recording feature is a great convenience, ensuring that I have video evidence in case of incidents. I also appreciate the built-in Wi-Fi, which allows for easy video transfer to my phone for sharing or reviewing. Overall, this dash cam offers exceptional reliability and peace of mind on the road, making it a smart investment for any driver.

Small and powerful dashcam
When my daughter started driving I became more conscious and aware of the need of having a dashcam so all of a sudden I was in the market for 3 dashcams. After intense review and understanding our needs, I went for this one. A simple yet reliable cam that could provide info for the insurance in case anything happened. I couldn't be happier with the decision. These devices are simple yet useful. Installation was a breeze and mobile app set up as well. Just paired this app with some Micro SD cards and was ready to go. I really like the (simple) voice controls and honestly don't feel I'm missing anything with the lack of a screen. What could be better? Maybe resolution, it is not great for capturing plates. I have seen other Chinese brand dashcams with better resolution but I decided to prioritize brand and reliability with Garmin.

Small, easy to hide, solid app but interferes with wireless carplay
Small dashcam that's easy to hide and comes with flexible installation options and solid app support from Garmin. The physical unit is small and easy to hide behind rearview mirror for discreet install. Comes with very long cord that connects to a 12V usb charger with an extra port so it doesn't take over whatever else you were already using on the 12V port. You can also plug directly into a car USB port or use another wire you have to fit your car if this is too long. The app is easy to use but relies on a direct wifi connection which apple carplay also depends on so there's a limitation that you can't have both going on at the same time if you needed to check footage via the app.other than that, footage quality is good and this is a great overall package from hardware to app from Garmin.

Not what I expected
I have two of these cameras, and I have been using them for a couple of years. I initially chose them for their cloud capabilities, expecting better performance than a regular, cheaper camera; however, they failed to deliver on that front. The cameras only connect to my home Wi-Fi, and the upload function rarely works properly. The image quality is also quite low. Additionally, the app is poorly designed, with connection issues occurring every time I use it.One of the cameras started displaying SD card error messages, and I swapped the card several times with no improvement. Now, it is stuck in firmware update mode, and I am unable to do anything to fix it—even a hard reset doesn’t work.I am very disappointed with this camera, and I would advise against wasting your money on it.

Get it.
Are you reading reviews, trying to decide which dashcam to get? You’ve landed on the right one. The decent 1080p video is wide enough it can see everything in front of you. The app is simple and can upload directly. There’s also a OBD USB adapter to connect this to your vehicle for longer coverage, which will keep the camera rolling after you turn off the engine.

The App is TERRIBLE
The camera itself is great. I love the small size. It hides behind the mirror and you don’t notice it’s there. Invest in an OBD2 cord. If you’re planning on using the cigarette lighter cord it comes with, the camera will not operate unless the car is on. The continuous power of an OBD2 cord lets it operate in sentry mode. I hope I never have to use it, but it’s good to have in case someone breaks into or hits your parked car. I didn’t buy the one from Garmin. The generic cord that’s half the price works fine. The 3 stars is due to the TERRIBLE software. It takes FOREVER to connect and it’s super spotty. Open a different app while you’re using it and it will freeze. So I find myself constantly waiting for the Garmin app to connect. Hopefully they’ll upgrade the software because the camera is great, but the app is such garbage that you might not find it worth the frustration.

Great Dash Cam Upgrade
My front/rear pill box ojocam has been flaky on me ever since I've had it, not always recording correctly. I was looking for a replacement that was similar in size and this garmin dash cam is the closest I could find in a decent price range. My only real complaint about this camera is the app and how finicky it is trying to connect to the cameras through it. I bought 2, so I had to do it twice. Not a big deal to not be able to view the footage through the app as if something did happen, I would most likely just pop the SD card and view on a laptop anyway. The picture quality is very good for the price point and size of the device. If you are familiar with wiring things up in a vehicle to the fuse box, installation is pretty straight forward. I love that it beeps everytime my truck starts so I know that both cameras are powered on and in a "record" state(I think you can disable this but I'm not sure since I wanted them to beep). Overall, a great product for the price.
