I use long matches to light my wood stove, and I prefer to use only one match and one stick of fatwood for that. My favorite Duraflame matches were unavailable, so I bought these instead. A match is a match, right?Well, these are slightly longer but a bit narrower, so they tended to break occasionally when striking, and they didn’t always light on the first or even second strike, which increased the chance of them breaking. The thinner sticks also blew out easily, or just spontaneously died out like it was some kind of safety feature.In my experience, the Duraflame matches are superior,, but these will do the job.

I ordered these to be able to light several of my candles that houseguests had allowed to "tunnel". They work great for the purpose. They light right away with the strike-on-box feature and burn with a fast-burning, high flame. The long handle gives me plenty of time to light the wick before the flame gets close to my hand.They seem to be exceptionally strong and sturdy, too. My envelope was manhandled by the post office at some point: Numbers, letters, and the barcode on the mailing label were scratched and unreadable, which caused it to be delivered to the wrong address at first, and the envelope was crushed to the point that one of the boxes of matches was caved in on one side. All the matches inside the battered interior box are in perfect shape, though. Impressed!
