I have a 7/8 inch od pipe. would the 3/4" cap fit? (since i do not know what part of the 3/4" the fitting refers to).

Hello, Pipe with an outside diameter of 7/8" is considered 3/4" nominal size pipe. 3/4" SharkBite fittings should be used with this size pipe. Hello, The SharkBite End Cap is for capping a line. If you are trying to connect a copper pipe with a PEX pipe you could use a SharkBite Coupling. When connecting the copper pipe the copper must be rated ASTM (B 88) and the PEX must be rated ASTM (F 876) in order to use the SharkBite Coupling part # U008LF.
