Rock and Roll
An honest review, the tumbler is fantastic, I watched some Youtube videos comparing it to others and have found that it has low energy use and can tumble much faster than most other tumblers. It's in my kitchen and with the door closed I cannot hear it when I'm watching TV or listening to music (Although I quite like the sound of the tumbler, it's relaxing to me so I leave my door open).I am a total amateur and my only experience is picking up pretty stones in my travels. I've accumulated a few nice ones! But this kit also came with some very nice stones too! (Although many too small to survive the process). The instructions said that the first grit should be run for 3 days on the top speed, but after around 24 hours I checked my first batch and most were ready, my second and third batch ran again for another 24 hours each and I ended up with 1 large batch of well rounded stones, however many of the stones shrank significantly and I think a couple totally disintegrated so be careful! Check often, rinse them off (Not down the sink) and take them out when ready, put the not-ready ones back in.Unlike the suggestion to tumble them with the first grit for 3 days on max speed... I'd have lost most of my stones if I had blindly followed that instruction.Be ready to have to deal with sludge, the water gets very dirty and does not want to be poured down the sink, I put it in a bucket and leave it for 24 hours to settle than syphon off the clean water and leave the dirty sludge to dehydrate into a solid.I hope that helps, I'm really enjoying this new hobby! But I've already run out of stones, oh no!

Fun for people who enjoy cute hobbies
For a drum that goes round and round, it’s expensive. It’s a very well built machine, reassuring quality and heft, and seals the liquid in very well. It’s not quiet. I’ve never had or seen one of these before, so it may be quiet in comparison to others, but it is not quiet. Have it in a cupboard in the kitchen and can hear it throughout all the downstairs. It’s not an annoying noise however, similar sound to a humming fridge so it does fade into the background very easily. Can’t really comment on the performance, it just rotates rocks, but it’s smooth and consistent. Came with an extra drive belt too which is a genuinely fantastic bit of thought. Highly recommend, based on my very limited experience.

Lovely bit of kit
Bought for my 9 year old Granddaughter. She loves being outdoors looking for rocks etc. This comes as a complete kit including the rocks. Not cheap but it's well made and results are great. She thinks it's "spot on".

Bag of rocks in the uk individual bits are way to small
In the uk the bag of rocks that came where tiny most didnt make the progress. Turned to dust we could do with less rocks but a decent size like the ones in american products as seen on you tube. Apart fromThat and micro polished rocks they turned out average using their grits and time periods. Have refined the process with different grits and rocks turns out a highly polished selection now my advice is buy another barrelFor final stage.

Fantastic rock tumbler for beginners and experts!!
I absolutely love this and am totally hooked on going to the beach & hunting for pebbles, rocks & sea glass to tumble. This was easy to assemble, fun to learn how to use & play around with the different speeds & days for each grit. The rough stones that come with it are beautiful. I would highly recommend this.Fantastic customer service from National Geographic & a brand you can trust. X

Appalling machine, appalling customer service
This is my second rock tumbler from National Geographic. Like the first, it has come up with an E symbol and won't work. I have repeatedly tried to get help both from Nat Geo and Amazon but because it's out of its 30 day return window they won't offer any help at all.
