There was some issue with MSI Centre app in controlling the RGB for the ram, but the customer support was helpful and fixed the issue.Using the BIOS to set Fan Curve is convenient and bios settings are not confusing.

Ich habe den MSI MPG Z690 Carbon WiFi bei meinem ersten (nach langer Zeit) PC Eigenbau gekauft und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Mit MSI Produkten bin ich bereits vertraut und habe somit auch hohe Erwartungen gehabt. Das Material wirkt sehr hochwertig, durch das Carbon ist es leichter als erwartet für ein ATX Mainboard. Ich kam an die Anschlüsse recht gut ran. Ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen. Ich habe eine i7 12700KF und einen RTX 3080 Ti rangebaut. Ebenfalls sind alle Komponenten mit der RGB kompatibel: RGBs vom Case (Sharkoon), vom MB und Grafikkarte (MSI), RAM (Corsair) und AiO-Kühlung (Arctic) sind alle mit der MSI Software steuerbar (vorher jeweils die eigene Software runterladen, dann ist es im MSI Center ersichtlich).Jederzeit wieder.

Picked up one of these boards for several reasons:1. Wanted a X90 motherboard for a Intel i9 12900k CPU2. Needed 4 NVME Slots3. Needed as many SATA slots as I could get4. Wanted to use existing RAM as DDR5 not so easy to obtain5. Have used MSI boards before and have found them more stable on certain platforms (looking at you Asus Rampage X99 specifically).The first thing that I noticed was the weight of the board - it has a serious heft to it, mostly from the heat sinks. It really feels solid overall. I liked the NVME retaining clip on the first slot - beats a screw and again, nice heat sink to spread the heat from the boot drive.Also my first board to have an integrated I/O shield - it's not a deal breaker as I've built 100's of PC's but it's nice to just push in and it's done, instead of having to worry about lining it up and finding one of the bits of the shield has bent down over a port. Just make sure you pull the plastic off before fitting it in :)The new flash BIOS is nice - I think my older X299 board needed the CPU installed, but with this, you can download the latest BIOS and update it regardless (I mean, I have the CPU, it's just nice to not rely on it).Installation is straight forward - usual screws for the board in whatever chassis you have. Plenty of headers for fans and LED's, should you like your case lit up like a Christmas Tree - and yes, if you don't, you can turn it all off too.Other things to check off - yes there's a CPU fan and Pump header, which does seem to be the norm for most modern boards but in a better placement than my B550 Strix board. Both aren't perfect placements, but can't have it all.I use a lot of USB ports so there's a decent amount on the rear - all the way up to a 3.2 2x2 port for 20Gbps transfer, plus a couple of USB 2 for mouse/keyboards so you have USB 3 for all those things that actively need them.I can't comment on the onboard sound - I prefer an external Sound Blaster myself and therefore it's ignored but I'm sure it's perfectly fine.Network wise there's a 2.5Gbps Intel network port and there's also an Intel WIFI 6 card for wireless usage - I prefer mine hard wired personally but it's there should I need it or if I move around stuff.Performance wise - I can't comment vs a DDR5 board but I have no qualms about the performance - of course your milage may differ depending on your CPU but if you have the 12900 or 12700, I'm sure you'll find this board solid.One last note that I picked up on elsewhere - if you want air cooling, this board is fine, unlike the Asus Strix boards, which apparently have issues due to their heat sinks on the VRM's. I know not everyone used air cooolers but if you do, this board is fine apparently.In short - I like MSI boards since my bad experience with another manufacturers products and this is certainly a solid board (physically and in usage!).

Mit meinem neuen 12900K Prozessor habe ich weiterhin DDR4 Arbeitsspeicher nutzen wollen und zur Auswahl hatte ich in dieser Preiskategorie neben dem MSI-Edge noch ein Asus Board. Habe mich aber für das MSI entschieden, weil es mich optisch viel besser angesprochen hat und es zu meinem Computer besser gepasst hat.Finde auch sehr gut, dass das Edge nun auch RGBs mit verbaut hat, denn das MSI Logo kommt beleuchtet sehr schön rüber. Aber natürlich sind neben Optik und RGBs, noch Qualität und Ausstattung wichtig und hier erfüllt das Mainboard alle meine Anforderungen. Auch mit dem Bios komme ich sehr gut aus und ich finde das es auch sehr aufgeräumt ist. Mein 12900K läuft jedenfalls sehr gut auf diesem Mainboard.Im Lieferumfang befindet sich auch ein Stick mit Treiber statt einer CD, was ich so auch sehr gut finde, weil ich z.B. gar kein Laufwerk für CDs/DVDs verbaut habe. Das Mainboard hat auch meine G.Skill 3600 MHz (CL 16-16-16-36) problemlos angenommen und ich bekomme sie sogar mit 4000 MHz Gear 1 ans Laufen.In meinem Fall nutze ich zwar Lan, aber ich finde es auch sehr gut das W-Lan und auch Buothooth mit dabei sind. Auch meine 2x PCIe M.2 SSDs + 1x M.2 SATA SSD wurden sofort erkannt und alle Laufwerke waren sofort integriert. Meine RTX 3080 Grafikkarte wurde genauso direkt und unproblematisch erkannt und läuft sehr gut auf diesem Mainboard. Mit einem neuen Riserkabel läuft nun sogar auch PCIe 4.0.Das System startet auch sehr schnell nach dem Einschalten und verzögert nicht ganz so lange wie früher mein altes System. Mit aktiviertem Fastboot geht es sogar noch schneller. Das Board verfügt auch über das Bios-Flashback und kann so sogar ohne verbauten Komponente aktualisiert werden. Ein Reset Button zum Reseten des Bios gibt es zwar nicht, aber ich habe mir an diese zwei Pins auf dem Mainboard selbst ein Klickschalter angeschlossen und an geeignete Position gelegt. So kann ich per Tastendruck auch jederzeit das Bios zurücksetzen. In meinem Fall sehr wichtig, weil meine Grafikkarte vertikal mit Hardtube verbaut ist und ich sonst weder an diese zwei Pins, noch an die Batterie kommen würde.Jedenfalls fällt für mich das Mainboard sehr gut aus und würde es jederzeit nochmal kaufen.
