My Roku TV is 12 years old and the remote works flawlessly. What can trip you up is that the batteries go in the same direction. Not a traditional battery set up, which looks like some negative reviews are from buyers not catching this. It is an excellent replacement... again, as long as you put the batteries in correctly.

I bought a new Roku ONN 42" TV. The remote ended up being an issue. I couldn't figure out why when watching different apps, I'd get thrown out to the home screen. I tried new batteries, but that wasn't the issue. I noticed it often happened when I would use the sound buttons, or rewind, etc, but sometimes when not even touching the remote. I read a blog from others that had the same issue getting tossed back to the home screen, and one advised doing a reset on the TV. I would do this, and within days have the same issue. I read further into the blog and a few said they had to buy their own Roku remote and that cured the problem. So I bought this one. I've been using it since the 7th, and only been tossed back to home screen twice. It worked right off after putting in the batteries, no need to synchronize with the TV, as the original and this one don't even have or need that capability. The only con is that 24 days later, the vo!ume down quit working. I'm ordering another, same one, hoping it was a one off as the price is right and the rubberized buttons feel better than the original. Fingers crossed! UPDATE: two days after this review, the down volume started working again! But glad to have a spare. Should have bought 2 to start with.

Works great second time purchasing. We have a son hard on our remotes and happy to have found this one. Just out in battery and good to go
