Is This the Best Budget Podcast Microphone?
Hey everyone! Today, we’re checking out the FIFINE Podcast Microphone—a USB mic with four pickup patterns that’s perfect for podcasting, streaming, and recording. But is it any good? Let’s find out! 🔄 Unboxing & Build Quality Inside the box, you get the mic itself, a solid metal stand, a USB cable, and a user guide. The build quality is impressive—sturdy metal construction, a smooth volume dial, and a convenient mute button. For a budget mic, it feels premium. 🎛️ Features & Pickup Patterns This mic has four pickup patterns—cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo—so whether you're recording solo, interviewing a guest, or streaming, there's a mode for you. Plus, it’s plug-and-play on Windows, Mac, and even PS5—no drivers needed! • Cardioid Mode – Focuses on your voice, great for solo podcasts and streaming. • Omnidirectional Mode – Picks up sound from all around, ideal for group discussions. • Bidirectional Mode – Perfect for interviews. • Stereo Mode – Adds depth for music or ASMR recordings. The audio is crisp, clear, and warm, with minimal background noise in cardioid mode. It’s not quite pro studio level, but for the price, it’s one of the best USB mics out there. 👍 Pros & Cons ✅ Pros: ✔️ Excellent sound for the price ✔️ Four pickup patterns = versatile ✔️ Plug-and-play, no hassle ✔️ Solid metal build ❌ Cons: ❌ No XLR option for advanced setups ❌ Picks up keyboard noise in omnidirectional mode 🏆 Final Verdict For under £60, this is one of the best USB microphones for beginners. Whether you're podcasting, gaming, or making YouTube videos, the FIFINE Podcast Mic delivers impressive quality without breaking the bank.

No mistake....this is a superb microphone....
My Blue Snowball mic was coming up to 10 years old, having done sterling service, so it needed to be replaced. My first instinct was to go with the Blue Yeti, it seemed ideal...but I had a look around first, and found the FiFine K690-B, which seemed to be a Yeti clone, but considerably cheaper. Now, I'm usually an advocator of the adage....you get what you pay for....but this FiFine mic proved an exception. Its build quality is superb, all metal, and a sturdy desk stand, easily the equal of the Yeti. The mic has the 4 polar PU patterns, omni, bi, cardioid, and importantly, stereo. I would be using only cardioid and, mostly, stereo. They all work flawlessly. The mic is sensitive, but I had no problem with unwanted background noise. It also has a variable gain control, the pattern switch, a monitor mic control, and a mute button. The recorded sound in all modes is full and rich, much better than my outgoing mic. I record solo stringed instruments, and the stereo setting coped with this admirably, as did the cardioid. The immediacy of the sound is particularly noteworthy. Setup of the mic on Windows 10 is completely automatic. Now, what are the cons? For me, it's a matter of ergonomics. FiFine could have improved upon the Yeti control layout by bringing the mic gain control to the front of the mic, where the headphone monitor gain is already. The polar pattern switch can remain at the rear, although I can't see any reason why all of the controls couldn't be at the front. I have no information on how good it is for gaming, as I don't game. Other than this, the mic is a great buy, and thoroughly recommended.

Stellar sound, reasonable price.
I grabbed this as I was in a dire need of an upgrade in the microphone department; for my Youtube tutorials, gaming, and other areas. I was previously using a Samson GoMic USB Condenser. I know/knew that the Blue Yeti had been around for more than a decade at this point, but I also had to assume that there'd been enough time for a competitor to be born. After doing some digging, and watching Youtube videos--I came across this. I can say that I'm not disappointment. It offers crystal clear and reasonably balanced sound. I really am stoked and looking forward to playing more with the Stereo option. It's an all metal-build which makes it feel incredibly sturdy, and as much as I hate to the use the buzzword--"premium". I will say that the marketing material isn't clear, but what I received does use a USB-C port on the mic itself, and you do get a USB-C to USB-A cable in the box. The cable feels equally good quality, and as a good length. But I ended up using a USB-C to USB-C cable that I had laying around, it works/records just fine. The stand that it comes with itself is sturdy enough, but I feel also too low. So what you see in the photo is a third-party stand, with a third-party windshield. The mount is something I designed and 3D printed, and will be make free as well as easy to find. This is, probably, the optimal mic position, especially for stereo recording. Which the LED light to indicate of you're "hot" or muted, should be facing you. The knob for volume, and selector switch for the patterns are actually facing away from you.

Great sound
Fantastic sound quality. Very reasonable price and very sturdy. It’s a good piece of kit. The only thing I really don’t like is that it is a usb connection which after time can come loose (although mine hasn’t at the moment and hope it doesn’t!). I’d much prefer if it connected via a jack. However, I’m very pleased with the quality of the mic and sound. I would buy again and I highly recommend.

Great microphone.
Great microphone offering different pickup patterns. Made like a tank, feels really expensive. Audio quality is impressive for the price. Pros: 4 different pickup patterns Solid build quality Easily accessible mute button Great design Matt black looks sleek 😎 Long USB cable provider Cons Audio can be a bit noisy, so recommend post processing a bit Although the included stand is good the mic still sits low so I'd recommend a boom arm for convenience and optimum audio clarity.

There is no arguing that the FiFine K690 is a Blue Yeti Clone. Same features, similar build concept, and even every button and dial is in the EXACT same position as the Blue Yeti. Does this mean it isn't a good mic? No, it is a good mic. Although, I would love to see some innovation from FiFine in the future. A part of me doesn't want to say this slightly critical stuff about FiFine because I really do like them as a company. They produce some great mics for a great price. Since I know they are capable of making good products, I know that they could be capable of even more and coming out with their own microphone concepts with great features! I'd like to see them make the NEXT Blue Yeti, not the current one. FiFine K690 Pros: The K690 functions very well. Great build quality. Reasonable price. Sound is on par with the cost. Has a slight edge when it comes to sound quality compared to the Blue Yeti. Has useful and nice features (4 separate polar patterns). FiFine K690 Cons: Carbon Copy of the Blue Yeti (Some people probably don't care about this at all). I wish it at least could do 24 bit 48 kHz, but it just simply matches the Yeti with 16 bit 48 kHz. Once again matches the Blue Yeti with a mini USB port, I would have liked to see a USB-C port on this mic. Stand is a little short, so it could be hard to get great sound with it on a desk Summary: When it comes to the K690, I believe the Pros out weigh the Cons. This is a good sounding microphone with great features, even though those features aren't the most cutting edge. A lot of people may not care that it is a clone. The only reason I do, is that I want more for FiFine as a company. If you want to watch my full review, check out the 'Audio Hotline' on YouTube.

I purchased this microphone to improve the quality of voice recordings that I do, and I am very happy to say that it will fit the bill nicely! I was really impressed with the overall look and feel of this microphone. The unboxing of it was surprisingly nice -- it's in a very well-presented package. Everything about this feels very high quality, from the metal casing of the microphone itself, to the substantial stand included, and even the "Fifine" branded USB cable. It was simple to install -- just plug into the USB port on my Windows computer and it was immediately recognized. I tweaked a couple of settings in the Sound control panel as suggested in the instructions, and tried a test recording. The sound quality is excellent, and this is the first USB microphone I've purchased that I haven't returned. Other USB microphones had horrible buzzing and static -- this Fifine microphone had very clear audio with no distortion or background interference. I like that it has an optional headphone jack on the bottom if you want to monitor audio right through that output, but also like the flexibility that I can use the USB microphone to record, but continue to use my computer speakers for playback. This is the second Fifine microphone product I've purchased, and I've been very pleased with the quality of both of them.
