Textbook of Critical Care

Wow. Be prepared for in depth explanations, video content, and downloadable book for on the fly interpretation. If in ICU or going to ICU as a clinician this is a must have for your toolbox. I'm blown away and I just got it

I am a pulmonary critical care physician and use this book often. I have the seventh edition and liked the way it was written. I am just started reading it but i feel that it is a detailed book with some added concepts and new chapters including more detailed discussion on ARDS, ECMO, multidisciplinary approach in critical care. I love the e BOOK that comes with the book and you have a lot of videos including very common ICU procedures. Love this resource. It is amazing. This is a must have for any physician with work related to the ICU including ciritical care physicians and other specialities like cardiology, nephrology, infectious disease etc. I highly recommend it.

Simply said, this is the bible of Intensive care and that's that. I'm happy to finally have it in my library. My problem (once again) is with amazon shipping. The book was just thrown in a cardboard box with no padding and no protection whatsoever, so it arrived beat up. It is a shame seeing a masterpiece being disrespected this way!

I have been fully trained in pulmonary disease and critical care in Europe and in USA as well ,double fellowships thanks to the american superiority complex . This textbook used to be the prime textbook of critical care .In its glory days 3-5th edition used to be ~2200 pages .Now its numbering merely 1400 pages .Please explain to me how can that be ,when knowledge has increased . I am afraid the root causes are the sad state of affairs of the american academia today ,compared to the extinct intellectual giants of a bygone era in Americal Medicine I am very fond of .Should be renamed as manual and not textbook .

Reading is easy. To the point. Helped overall understanding of patho physiology.

Very strong pages and information

Very informative, without too much unnecessary details that could discourage the reader as deep internal medicine background is required. Also I like the good explanation and management of conditions encountered more frequently in ICU. In other words the writers know when to give more explanation and when to give a short one.

This book is high yield for learning critical care. Some of the chapters are so short you can read it in minutes which i appreciate. It’s just so large and the binding is fragile

The book is great however it's index and link to accompaning ebook is missing. It seems last pages have been removed before sending me this book.

Lo consiglio vivamente a chi desidera approfondire le proprie conoscenze o prepararsi al meglio per la pratica clinica in terapia intensiva, si può affermare che sia IL manuale di riferimento, in quanto più completo di altri manuali più brevi come il marino, da usare appunto come perno su cui apprendere le nozioni base e avanzate della terapia intensiva, tenendo conto che per quanto aggiornatissimo, alcuni argomenti vanno studiati e rivisti direttamente dalle review
