TEKNIKAL Full HD Satellite Receiver Set Top Box + Recorder + Tuner, Use SKY Dish to receive Free TV Channels

We bought this to watch HD German satellite TV, as the main senders have stopped SD transmissions. Available programmes were quickly loaded, and while the instructions on deleting and sorting channels were very basic, once I worked out what to do, deleting and reordering channels was quite quick and easy. The picture is very good. We haven't tried the recording function.Two very minor drawbacks. The unit is very light, so can be difficult to keep where you want it, and the clock loses time quite quickly, though puts itself right once the set is turned on.Overall, a good unit at a excellent price.

There are two parts to this review.firstly the item arrived and worked for 6 months and then stopped working. Cotacted seller and a replacement arrived in a few days - no fuss and an excellent service to replace the faulty product.As a product it works- picks up the channels, basic programme guide. The channel order after scanning is a bit random. You can sort them into your preferred order, but it is a bit of a tediuos process. The remote control works - but has to be pointed directly at the box. As the only place i could put the box was beside my TV, i tend to point the remote at the TV - then remember that it wont work unless I point it directly at the box.

I tried for hours to get this to connect and work; I finally gave up and sent it back for a refund, and purchased a refurbished Humax Freesat box, which connected immediately!

It does exact what it’s supposed to.The Freesat Logo is misleading. It will give all Free to Air Channels, but it is NOT a Freesat receiver. Freesat receivers require the manufacturer to pay a fee to use the software. So you will get BCC 1, ITV 4, Dave etc -but they will be in a random order. Cause they ain’t paid for the Freesat licenceI used these for British Free to Air, German Free to Air, Italian etc.Pictures are fine, scart is there for older TVsIt’s good value for moneyThe remote is a bit pants & you have to be really quick to punch in the three digit channel numbers.Good product, but if you want BBC 1 on 101, BBC News on 200, Channel 4 on 104, you’ll need a dearer Freesat receiver

My tv terrestrial signal is poor. I bought the satellite receiver to improve my viewing. Though there are loads of channels to choose from now I have trouble selecting them as the remote has a mind of its own. I have to select channels manually with the controls on the box,a slow process. I put this down to it being a cheap receiver and will upgrade when I can afford to.

Great price and so easy to use it is very compact and five minutes to install highly recommend it for anyone

Its OK for a back up or for your bedroom. Really enoying epg when your scrolling through the channels it changes the channel to. Plus it scans hundreds of other channels you can't watch.

Easy to set up loads of free to air channels I would recommend it
