You could hardly have any charcoal in the tube part of this because the air would not move through it. Always had ice buildup up around it.

Functions and looks great

I was so happy with the first four, I bought for the toilet vents that I decided to put them on all the vents. They look nice, and most importantly, they stop the nasty sewer odors. I think they would also prevent rodents from coming in through the vent pipes. We have a rooftop deck and it was so awful to be enjoying sitting outside and get a whiff of sewer odor. These simply slip over your vent pipe and they stay put. I live in a windy area, and they have not moved. I did have one occasion where the smell was coming into my home so I went up and flipped over the (included) charcoal bag and the smell stopped immediately. We have septic where I live. These have been wonderful.

The best review is from the person who ordered these and RECEIVED them the same day their$369K House for was toured by a buyer. Smelled the back yard and rejected the house. Thsi was NOT a Septic issue as evidently that was all just replaced... The Seller then put them on the roof that night and got the agent to show again! A $60 FIX SOLD the house successfully. I smelled the same issue here in GA in November, after my new roof install let me finish gutter guards and complete our 36 ft COVERED enclosed deck extension. These reviews were SPOT ON, mentioning that the fall causes a Temperature Inversion and the typical odor gets flowed DOWN along the roof and home to the ground. Thanks for them EXPLAINING that, and it is a NORMAL outgassing process. I was smelling it a lot as on the 2nd story under 20 ft from 3 vents. All different sizes. YOU can measure the diameter from INSIDE the ATTIC more safely. Just a suggestion. My Final suggestion is the Metal Hexagonal Vent Cover version is actually a GAS RATED vent, way better than the PCB Rice Bowl cover - Get IT! My Wife has Oxygen and other breathing and heart issues, so it is critical to NOT have any Hydrogen Sulfide gas enter the addition or the patio door ect already below/near the vents on the roof. BTW the SHOWER CHLORINE filter we bought on Amazon for $28 cut down hugely on her showering fatigue and oxygen recovery in the first use!
