Works Well As a Deterrent, Easy To Install, Convenient
My 88 year-old grandfather has moderate dementia and had been getting up in the middle of the night to consume so much food that he made himself sick, and also left food out adding to the risk of eating something that had spoiled. After talking with his doctor, we determined that for his safety it was best to lock the main food cupboard and refrigerator at night after the household had gone to bed. After doing much research and considering our level of need, I opted to try this locking strap...and I'm glad I did!The strap is sturdy and holds in place very well. Resetting the combination was very simple to do. Being a keyless lock has been very convenient in allowing multiple people access while eliminating the worry of Granddad eating himself sick or worse while everyone is asleep. It has also allowed up the freedom to keep the cupboard and refrigerator as open access to him while we are able to supervise his safety.Things to note: the straps are sturdy, but not fool-proof...older children and adult strength and or ingenuity will easily bypass the locking straps either by force of dislodging the adhesive backed straps, or in Granddad's case, simply cutting the straps (I was a step ahead with an extra strap ordered just in case, lol). It's best to start with a clean surface and allow a full 24-hours for the adhesive to set on the surface before engaging the locking mechanism. In all, I am very satisfied with this product as it was very easy to install, has held up with its sturdiness, and is very convenient with its two-digit combination lock. This product is appropriate as a deterrent and will keep out toddlers and younger and those weak of strength. Older children to adults will be able to bypass the lock quite easily.

I love this. 1-) It was easy to install- which ...
I have 4 kids. They team up against me and figure out every child safety lock I have ever gotten.I love this.1-) It was easy to install- which is great when I have 4 monkeys hopped up and running around like the avengers in civil war with mommy being the airport they choose to battle and climb on.2) Setting the combination- also super easy. I use whatever is handy-at the time it was deck screws I had on my counter from screwing in the bedslats on the bunk beds my spawn kept dismantling to turn into a mattress slide.3) My kids are like freaking hawks- I leave it unguarded for a second and they are looking to see which number its on while open...however it is so easy to change, I can immediately switch it. They have actually given up, and I no longer wake up to find half a gallon of milk spilled on my kitchen floor becausw my 3 year old is thirsty or the fridge left open and everything lukewarm and empty pie pans in my 6 year olds room cause he just wanted a snack. Those little buggers can eat the apples from the fruit bowl on the table if they get midnight cravings now.The only reason I did not give this a 5 star is because the adhesive is coming a bit loose- not a deal breaker though. Pretty sure gorilla glue will make that sucker stick even with 4 year old twins attempting to tug-of-warring on it.Which honestly, is probably not what the original adhesive was meant to stand up to, so kudos to the designers for making a bangin product.

This works great until it didn’t!
This was awesome for the first couple of months until my adult diabetic mentally challenged child decide to get a pair of scissors and cut it off! When I put another went back on after a discussion about why it needed to be there, he figured out how to open up by feeling the code unlock. Hard to explain. This would be great for small children and challenged adults who cannot understand two numbers together.

Great Refrigerator Lock Deterrent
I'm using this lock to keep my teenagers out of our side-by-side refrigerator every time I turn my back. It was easy to apply and it is doing the trick. I trimmed the straps to the proper length and applied them to the handles. Setting the combination was easy once you figure out what they mean by press the "buttons" to set the combination. Looking through the side holes of the lock end of the buckle you will find a tiny round peg with a dimple on the end just big enough for a paper clip wire to push against. While pushing the peg inward, turn the dial to the desired number. Do that on both sides. It would have been nice to have a drawing or photo on the instruction sheet.Although it works very well, improvements would be to have three numbers instead of two (a determined teenager probably could run through the 100 combination choices in short order) and the ability to snap the buckle together when it is not set to the combination. We have to remember to scramble the numbers after we open the lock so that a passerby can't see the combination, then have to enter the combination again in order to buckle it back together, then scramble again. Yes, I know the expectation is to use this for kids under 10 or so, but other than a padlock and chain, there is not much choice in refrigerator locks. Maybe also provide another set of straps in case the first application gets messed up, or if your kid tries to rip it off the refrigerator, which of course would come with consequences.

Does a great service for safety of the fridge snd freezer
We used these to secure our french door refrigerator and bottom freezer. This worked like a champ. The sticky ends wrap around the bars leaving the latch on the outside. The code is a great feature to keep older kids out. I could see this being used on a cabinet with medication or something. But we don't use it as out toddler can't get neat the height. It also worked great on our freezer as we used it like most drawer locks with the sticky laying against the front and aide and the latch on the side. I can see these being great for all refrigerator styles. The only reason for the 4 stars is the latches do get in the way of closing the doors sometimes. Sometimes well give the doors a Lil shove to close on their own and the latch will get in front of one of the doors and prevent them from shutting. I don't think anything, such as a design change, could prevent that. It's just an inconvenience but prevents a bigger inconvenience of your toddler rummaging through the refrigerator. Would absolutely buy more if needed.
