Is the boiler plastic, metal (what kind), or glass? is any plastic that comes in contact with hot water bpa-free?

For the life of me, I cannot replace the scoop to the side of the machine. Any suggestions?

I've kept my scoop in the coffee container for many years and can not imagine why it should be attached to the machine. Supposedly making your life simpler? In truth you are now a slave to perfect reinstallation of that scoop every day. Not worth the fuss IMHO.
