Simple and easy.
The app is very useful. Alongside being able to activate and track the progress of the test, it provides in depth information via the notifications. Information such as not to have sex / masturbate within 24 hours before the test. It also explains how just 15% who had high PSA test results have prostate cancer. So there's a good chance even if this test comes back as high that it could be due to a different less severe or not severe at all problem. This test could be the first indication something might be wrong and to see a doctor. If however you're already experiencing symptoms, personally i would say skip this test and see a doctor in person ASAP.So, my guy is in his 40's and we were happy to get this test to try. We found the whole process simple and easy. My partner got me to prick his finger for him. I simply pushed down on the blue and white device which then released the needle very fast ( the set comes with two devices just incase it doesn't go right the first time ). He didn't feel anything he'd class as discomfort. He then, as instructed by the test, removed the first droplet of blood and proceeded to apply 4 good sized drops to the centre of a plastic type case thingy. He waited for the blood to absorb then shut it. Once shut you cannot open it again. He put one of the included plasters on then, as instructed removed a little scannable sticker from the test activation / id card and applied this to the top of the case thingy. Then it went in the pre-paid envelope and we popped it in the post box.We are now awaiting his results. Our notifications tell us the sample has been received but that it's being forwarded to the laboratory. Should his test come back as high we will make him a doctors appointment.

Not as efficient as expected
Followed instructions, did the finger prick blood drops and sent it off nearly a week ago. Still no update on website as to delivery despite Royal Mail showing delivered days ago!Online help via app is in German!

A very good product
Very good product - instructions are easy to follow and tracking feature is sound. Results were very quick once the sample had reached the lab. The only downside was it took longer to get there than expected.

Some good points and some bad ones
So we all should know by now how important it is for us guys to regularly check the family jewels and once at a certain age get our prostrate checked. This kit will allow you to get your PSA level checked via a private lab and an in depth very informative report given around prostate issues along with your PSA number.Testing is easy you just go to the website and after creating an account (takes a few moments at most) you can also use the app although not required and activate your test using the supplied code (only a few numbers so nothing massive to remember) you then follow the instructions to obtain the blood sample (uses a self retracting sprung loaded blade to prick you) and send it off using the supplied packaging and prepaid postage label. Once done you receive an email letting you know the sample has been received, sent to the corresponding lab, lab received and processing and finally your results. The result is presented as a speedo type graph and pointer. The level measured is explained and you get a wealth of information about the disease etc that is from multiple cited sources and so is very useful and trustworthy. This is where the kit has the only advantage that I can think of and the only reason you might choose to buy this test. Now for the elephant in the room. If you go to your GP and ask for a prostrate check/PSA test (presumably you will have had some symptoms prompting you to buy this test privately) you will get the same test for free with the only difference being you will be told the result is fine and if you ask nicely, be told the number. The rest of the information you can look up on the internet for free just make sure it’s from reputable sources/peer reviewed for piece of mind.So to conclude if your just curious and have no symptoms relating to the prostate at all you can buy this test and check your PSA level and get a nice informative report. If you suspect something might be amiss but don’t want to go to the Dr (not a good idea really) you can buy this test to see first then follow up with Dr. Or you can save your money and just go to the Dr (safest option) and get the same test run.I’ve given it 3 stars as it’s really well put together and thought out quality kit but you can get it done for free by your Dr and the app is not the best nor is it optimised for the iPad so sits in the middle of the screen like the early iPad days before optimised apps

Still no results
Disappointing that 2 weeks after testing still no results and the app promotes results typically within 2 days of receipt - no idea how accurate results are, I’m still waiting :(

Convenience
I finally got around to doing this test. Remembering to do it between saturday and tuesday was the only problem I had (my fault). I seemed to remember on a Wednesday or Thursday. Read the instructions carefully and did the test and posted it in the provided envelope. The plastic container would not close properly but it did cover the blotting paper type stuff you put your blood on. Posted Monday afternoon, received the result 10 days later. Seems odd that you send it to one address then they send it on to the lab. Surely it would be quicker (and cheaper) to send it direct to the lab? Although speed isn’t critical as far as I am concerned. Yes you can get this test free on the nhs, as others have stated. However you have to book an appointment, take time out of your day to go for the test. This is much more convenient. If you are working you would have to take at least a half day holiday or use a couple of hours flexi to get the test done. Anyway I loved the convenience of home testing and I passed!
