Le Creuset Petite Salt and Pepper Mill Set, 5" x 2" each, Black and White

A young friend just bought his first home; these were a housewarming gift along with peppercorns and Himalayan pink salt. He's a minimalist and highly focused on minimizing his personal impact on the planet. So when he requested a salt & pepper mill as a gift, I bought the best so he'll never need to replace 'em. The set have a small footprint, classic Le Cru design, and will last him a lifetime.

I was looking for a salt/pepper grinder set to replace the most recent in a long line of unacceptable grinder sets I'd purchased since my last really good set wore after about 20 years of use. These are great. Love the color coding, so I always know which one I'm grabbing. They are well made and their compact size means they don't take up a lot of cabinet space.

We have the big version of these and love them. We bought these as a gift for my parents to keep on the dining table and I‘m hoping someone will gift them for us one day lol. My only complaint is that they are basically the same price as the big version

The screw mechanism on the salt shaker stopped functioning within months. I solved this by switching the tops. So the black one for pepper has the S and the white one for the salt has the P. Several years later the white one has totally fallen apart. What a waste of money. Surprising for the brand.

The young lady I gave these to was thrilled. I love the color combo so there’s no way to confuse the salt & pepper. ❤️

Love Le Crueset and have many of their products. These seem different in quality than most. They don’t seem as sturdy/solid as I’m used to seeing from this company.

We got the 5" and these grinders are small. I wanted small, but I was hoping for a little more capacity. You can barely put a tablespoon of peppercorns in it. Salt is fine, but we use a lot less of that. I'm constantly refilling the pepper.However, that is not why it gets two stars, as they do sell bigger ones to resolve that problem, but what I have found from others reviews, is that the grinder mechanism is indeed poor quality, It does not work well on the pepper. The salt works okay, I can't really complain there. it does it's job. But the Pepper is not even functional, I wound up having to pick up a temporary grinder from the dollar store that worked better until I can find a good quality replacement option.All in all, very disappointed by the poor quality of this product from such a renowned company, particularly for how much they charge for these junky things.
