Great hot air station
Great tool. Does what it's advertised to do. Has digital temperature control. Heats up very fast. Case is quite light. Size is compact. Comes with different tips. Works well. Good price. Good value. Nothing to complain about.

Works well
Soldered a small PCB with several dozen components in the 0604 size with no issue, seems to be a decent quality tool and gets hot nice and quick. Happy with this purchase

After use must keep to holder so that it can standby automatically
Small and easy to use, I using it to replace mobile and laptop IC

Love this thing
It works well even with unleaded solder, it can still push enough heat to pull off factory smds without adding leaded. I dont know what else you could ask for for this price. a+ product

Worked as hoped and expected
Item worked fine, was packaged very throughly so as not to get damaged during shipping. I needed this for more accurate heating over a heat gun, it got the job done.

Meh
Calibration is a joke. Actual temperature is lower than setpoint at low settings and higher that setpoint at higher settings. Calibration doesn't seem possible over any thing other than a single set point. The description claims the device meets several standards: Quote "Safety & Widely Application - FCC Certified, comply with UL Standard(U.S.), appropriate US safety/compliance standard. Important Evaluation for Safety Electric Appliances." However there are no labels or other documentation to prove it. Also, I know for a fact it would not pass UL certification because the metal case is not grounded. Other than that, it seems like it will get hot and melt solder.

Older Version of a Standard Tool
We have a lot of these where I work. The newer version has a single preset so you can adjust high or low for a heavy plane or heating heat shrink and then back to normal with a single button press.Okay, so are there differences between this and the earlier versions of the other brands? A few, some nice, some not so nice. The power cord is short and attached. In my case that's actually a plus, but it may not be for you. The holder, which automatically places the unit in cool-down to standby mode, can be placed on either side depending on your preference. It defaults on the right side, the other ones we have are strictly left. You have to remove the bracket from the holder and reverse it. I just left it as-is, more in a minute. The instructions are relatively complete if you can read Tiny, but there is no mention of how to mount the holder. There are two small screws on the side. Remove and then use them to install the holder.A couple of minor dings, however. In the ad copy it says "450°C/842°F," yet it can't be set to display °F. Only Celsius which for Yanks like me requires some quick mental math. The one that cost it a * however is that while in standby, it doesn't display the set temp, but "---". Not a huge deal by itself, but if you set it while in the holder, it starts heating. Not good.In an industrial environment, devices like these are practically disposable. For that reason and that I like having two on my bench... one high for solder and one low for heat shrink and shaping hot glue, I kept the holder on the right to help me grab the correct one and keep the cables from tangling. As far as performance goes, I couldn't tell a difference between this and the other similar ones, although this one costs far less than the current version of the ones we normally use. As in, less than ½. I didn't check the accuracy of the temp setting. Generally speaking, environmental conditions will affect the results... for that matter, so will your patience level on a given day. So either you have the correct heat or adjust up or down. Not to brag because I really am a 1 trick pony, but if soldering was an Olympic sport, I might not medal, but I would probably qualify for the medal round. I was comfortable with this one in less time than it took to find an outlet to power it.So, end of the day, it earns its place on my crowded bench.
