For best results, make a 1/16" wide keyway, 1/16" deep that is 51/128" away from the edge of what you are attaching it to. This was for 1/4" acrylic in my case, and with that keyway, once the hinge was pushed all the way on, the key snapped into the keyway and I could try with all my might but the hinge would not come off without tools (like a spudger). The grip on this hinge is fantastic. I put it on a door that was 21" wide by 14" tall and it is absolutely solidly connected. I love this stuff.

I've been using this hinge on a DIY plexi lid for a 46gal bowfront aquarium. I've had it on for 18 months now, opening the lid 3-4 times daily, with no issues. Getting the plexi in the firs time took a little while, as it grips pretty tightly, but if you slide it in from one end it's fine. After a year and a half of taking it off for cleaning and reinstalling, it's loosened up so reinstallation is a breeze, but it still grips well. I liked that they come in pairs as I anticipated it wearing out, but it's been doing fine long enough that I've forgotten where I put the second one. Shipping is a bit pricey but I haven't found a better alternative so far and I looked quite a while before purchasing this.

Used for fish tank glass top. Very sturdy, good quality.

The opening is super big. No where close to the size of glass most would use it for. Had to silicone the glass pane in place.

Worked perfectly for my 120 gal aquarium with double hoods. Had to trim to fit.

Very easy to install. Make sure you get the right thickness for your windshield. They are available in two sizes.

Nice product, worked great, used to build our Covid counter shield.
