They do have an expiration date. In my experience, you usually have between a year and two years before they are expired. They are very reliable, as far as the test results.

Q: Will this test detect an e coli urinary tract infection?

It did for me and it has for my mother. But that said, it does not show what bacteria is causing the infection - only that you have one. My doctor sent a urine culture to the lab and e coli came back as one of the infecting agents. The strip used at the doctor's office came back negative even though I had a terrible infection so I trust AZO.

Q: This is for my wife. We can't test while she is urinating, so can we dip the test strips in a sterile collection container?

I have to Cath in a bag so as I'm pouring urine out I run the test strip under it and it works just fine. The only difference between my bags and the container you're probably using is my bags are sterile so I'd make sure you use a clean container so the test isn't contaminated.

UTI detection

I have MS and get UTI once in awhile. It costI have MS and get UTI's once in awhile. This AZO works great. I still have to go to Urgent for medication but this AZO prevents me from going in if the test strip shows neg . It saves me a $55.00 Urgent Care fee. Easy to use. I always have them have them on hand.4

Not sure how accurate they are.

Not sure how accurate they are. I had symptoms twice and I got the same reading of a positive UTI. After testing at the doctors office, one was positive and the other was negative.
