Awesome mini ball pit!
My almost 8-month-old baby loves this turtle! She seems to enjoy playing with all of the pieces, and everything is a good size for her. I also appreciate that you can zip everything up and put it all away. My husband also plays “flying turtle” with her, which makes her laugh hysterically lol overall, it was a great purchase!

Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist Review
The media could not be loaded. This Melissa & Doug Kids Turtle Ball Pit is wonderful for building gross motor, cognitive and social skills for your sweet babies! The turtle has a variety of tactile, visual and auditory sensory components to explore, such as crinkly feet, silky fabric, rattles and a mirror. While your child sits in the ball pit, the balls provide proprioceptive feedback to build confidence and strengthen sensory motor skills. This toy is very much loved by my 8-month-old and 2-year-old.For parents/caregivers who are wanting to expand their child's early language skills, here are some ways to play with this toy with the child in your life.- While your child picks up and drops the balls make silly sounds such as bonk, boing, pop or bop. Or place the ball on top of your head and pretend to sneeze it off. This will help promote early imitation of sounds.- Model pushing the balls in and out of the holes on the turtle shell. This will help build object permanence and imitation skills for actions.- For older children, you can model the colors of balls and ask your little one to find certain colors.Happy Playing!!!

Fun, easy to clean up and cute
Love this toy- my son is one and he fits perfectly in this. He is learning his colors, liked to try to push the balls into the holes on the side and rattle the ball by the tail. Cute design, easy clean up and love the different textures. It doesn’t take up too much room and love that I can zip/Velcro the pit closed so all the balls stay in when we’re done.

Cute but small
I bought this for my 11 month old. The turtle that holds the balls is pretty small and my girl doesn't like to sit in it. But she loves all the colorful balls it came with and loves to play with the turtle by shoving the balls through the holes.

IT’s TURTLE TIME
My little girl turned one September 05 and everyone decided to get her some an educational developmental tool.Initially, I felt extremely out of place. How could I be so naive to realize my very first child would prefer development toys?Well, Daddy went turtle ball pit whenever else went developmental. Needless to say Franklin the Turtle remains superior.Highly recommend! The balls come in an array of shapes so it makes it locket for your child.

Not worth the price
While this was a good concept its execution failed, it didn't really work as a 'ball pit". Upon ordering this toy, I thought it would be ball pit that can stand alone, without anything in it. With that said, its simply a bag full of balls. I really wanted to like it and really thought it would work out but it just seems to fall short. My older son thought it was a sleeping bag for the younger one. lol. My husband didn't like it all, and simply kept repeating, "its a bag full of balls". Anyways, it came in a compact clear packaging. One set of bagged plastic balls were out side of the turtle and the other bagged plastic balls were inside the turtle. My son, who is 17 months, doesn't use it at all as ball pit. He just puts all the balls inside and takes them in and out and repeat. He also puts whatever else he can fit in it and drags it around with him. He does refuse to get in it. As for the closing and opening of the ball pit, there are two zippers on each side, located on the back of the turtle "shell" part. It does not close all the way up. it stops about 1/3 up the back and the rest would be closed using a velcro. There are holes on the shell part of the turtle to make it more fun and a small mirror. I guess this bag could be useful if your kid liked balls a lot and wanted to take with them everywhere and really tried to make the ball pit work. My kid simply doesn't care for it as a ball pit. I bought this on lighting deal, about $53. For the same price, you could buy an actual ball pit that would actually work as a ball pit. While this is a Melissa and Doug product, which is sought after, I can't in good conscience recommend for anyone to buy this for the price I paid for let alone the asking price of $70.
