A Nice Entertaining Romance 4.5 stars!
I especially enjoy romances with an interesting setup & Diana Quincy gives us an entertaining historical romance, in The Marquess Makes His Move.Alex is an English Marquess of half-Arab ethnicity who was recently cheated out of a large section of his land when a map was commissioned. He infiltrates the home of the map purveyor (cartographer & surveyor) as a footman to find proof that he was cheated.Rose English is the wife of the map maker and secretly the artist for the maps. When her neglectful husband assigns Alex, the new footman, to her, she at first is reluctant. But because of her fond memories of her dear Lebanese grandfather, Rose is attracted to Alex's dark looks & willingness to embrace his late mother's Arab culture. They form an affinity. But what about her husband?Alex comes to Rose's rescue time & again, especially when scandal threatens. No spoilers. But its nice having an aristocrat on your side who is willing to throw his title around.I enjoyed this romance. Both Rose & Alex we're agreeable & empathetic characters. The sexy times were a bit on the mild side but there was plenty of emotional connection between the two leads to carry my interest. (my only negative comment is that I don't like when both parties harbor secrets that impact the story and only the hero is made to suffer until he sufficiently apologizes. She should have done some serious groveling)4.5 stars.

Tender
This is definitely more on the tender side. I like that there are multiple situations that the main characters come across, and we get to see them working through them. I also liked the family aspect on Alex's side, and we get to see that reconnection with them. It's a sweet love story that I enjoyed.

Liked It!
I love historical romances! I’ve read several books by this author and liked them, even loved some, and this book was no exception. The premise was intriguing - marquess goes undercover as a footman to try to prove he was cheated, only to find himself falling for the mistress of the house. The heroine, Rose, was compelling - beautiful, smart, talented, and loyal, if a bit naive. The hero, Alex, was also compelling - handsome and aristocratic, albeit cold initially. Their chemistry felt a bit forced at the first, but grew more natural as the book went on. The storyline was fairly dark. Overall, a good book, and I liked it.

Enjoyable
A very enjoyable book and the best in the series. Gripping from the very start. It could have done with a bit more steam. My only problem is that after their main argument who would refuse a Marquess realistically ? Nobody. Otherwise a very entertaining book that I found hard to put down.
