Nostalgic and Cute for Decor
I received these as gifts and didn’t know what to do with them so I used them to add some frames & candles. Also, the books themselves are so much fun to read through and it definitely takes you back in time. I can’t believe some of the ads we used to have!

Fantastic trip down memory lane!
If you lived in the decades the series these books cover, you will love them! The ultimate nostalgia trip awaits you between the covers. Countless images, well organized. You will be amazed by how much you forgot from the decade, and laugh at the changes in culture and advertising. From “Joe Isuzu” to the “Marlboro Man”, it’s all in here, in vivid color. Take the trip down memory land. The perfect “Coffee Table Book” - pick your decade(s) !

Nostalgia!
I already had the versions of Tanschen (sp?) ad books for 1900 all the way up to the 1970s. I absolutely adore these books-- they are big, thick, doorstop-style books covering advertising in every topic you can think of. Looking through them is like stepping into a time machine.Half of it, I lived through, so it's very special -- and the first half of the century, I've always had a deep interest in, so love them, too. I didn't have them when I was teaching history, but if I did, definitely would would have used them! Didn't buy the 80s book for so long, as it seemed too "modern" --Heh, realized recently that the 80s were 40 years ago--so it would be worth buying this and before long, the 90s volume, too, so I'll have them all (I'm a 20th Century Kid, big time, and would return in a heartbeat -- If you're like me, you'll love all these.) Most interesting part in the 80s book is the computer section....haha.

Gold Standard for Ad Collections
I almost never write reviews, but I had to when I saw this had no reviews in englishI am so glad Taschen decided to put this series back into print. No other ad compilation book comes close to the "All American Ads" series. in my eyes. Around a thousand ads on every topic, from electronics to movie posters to tobacco. Most of the ads are printed one to a page as they initially were, so no detail is lost. You even get some two-page spreads! These are printed in great quality on large, thick paper, better than the magazine pages they were initially on!Because these were out of print for a while they were getting quite expensive, but at the current price, I can't recommend them enough. Whether you're in the advertising field, lived in the period, and want to revisit the ads, are interested in the period, or just want a fascinating book to spend hours looking through, you can't go wrong with any of the books in this series!
