Made my father read this book- which kind of backfired but then this book is written so cleverly, I was saved.So there's a chapter in this book where it suggests that waking up early is good for you. My father smirked and made me read that chapter. I read it. And then I saw the title of the next chapter.The next chapter was living life on your own terms. I smirked and made my father read that chapter. Hahaha.

Shunmyo Masuno who is the author has created a beautiful soothing experience for the reader through what I would describe as mini lessons on the zen way of living accompanied with some gorgeous illustrations depicting charming Japanese scenery which evokes a very grounding relaxed feeling. Overall , I would say this is a good before bedtime read to slow you down and get relaxed before sleeping.

Liked the book. It makes for good reading, and is also a good gift to give.

Shunmyo masuno is one of the most beautiful writers. You will start to read the book and trust me you don't wanna stop after that.

I like how he teaches ways of life it is very helpful for beginners with that i mean people who haven’t read any deep psychological books or healed their traumas and changed their lifestyles. This can serve as starting. However afew things in chapters like one i found in marriage where he is rationalising “emotional dumping” in the name of “that person trusts you you shouldn’t complain and afew more little things i found in certain chapters that wouldn’t agree with like don’t base relationships on profit and loss haha ofcourse there’s always some sort of business factor’s involved but you shouldn’t do it. It makes me laugh. I understand its not good all the time but trying to say practicality isn’t the way in a practical world thats absurb. Ofcourse people who overly do it suffer from stress and trying to talk to family members for change of air being polite even if they’re not the dude is indifferent to toxic households where politeness is cue for others to immediately abuse and torture you in some way. So while this monk dude is cool lol he’s indifferent to practical details that many face and it’s triggering when he says things obliviously.

Have read another book by this author. Already almost through this book. Two great volumes to have to refer to again and again.

Again, another amazing book from Revered Master Masuno. I really enjoy reading this book as it calms my mind before going to bed.
