Q: what is the max weight anyone has used this strap with? Can it hold 50lbs without tearing or becoming uncomfortable?

If you are lifting 50 lbs or heavier, it might be a good idea to go with a strap that does not have velcro. It would like two metal d-rings that you would clip to the cable machine.This strap should work as well... but it is mainly meant for light to medium weight.

Q: can this be used without cable machine? or how to use this at home without another device?

I’ve never used it any other way but with a cable machine.

They are designed to expand so they fit S, M & L ankles
