Excellent
I have 2 pens in silver and blue, one for each of my insulins. Unfortunately I have used the Nova Rapid instead of the Tresiba (slow release) on a couple of occasions by accident. Having this pen in red (means danger), it is so obvious which is the fast acting insulin. Being able to give half doses is a god send eg: when your carbs totally 35g, no more injecting too much or not enough! So easy to use but check on units before using as being used to turning once for a unit is now 2 twists instead! Within a couple of uses it becomes the norm. It's also slightly slimmer in size than others which also helps with identifying the correct pen. It's not cheap but having the peace of mind you're using the correct insulin is worth it.

Big Improvement
As someone who can be prone to forgetting almost instantly after I’ve taken my NovoRapid insulin injection, this is a very handy device - it tells you how long ago you took your last injection, and how much you took, which is invaluable for me - it eliminates the possibility of double dosing. It also lets you sync your injection information to apps on your smartphone, so you have a record of what you took and when. I use it with an iOS app called Glooko, which syncs with my Diabetic Clinic too.As a NovoRapid user, this is one of the 2 compatible pens, and the only change involved was the move from the disposable FlexPens to the PenFill cartridges which you install easily into the pen. Still NovoRapid, still exactly the same.I’m very happy with this smart insulin pen, and I’m glad I made the upgrade.A very easy two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

If you are prescribed insulin using these pens get spares on prescription & not on Amazon
Item good and fit for purpose. However I got told off at my Drs.surgery for ordering this on Amazon as it’s free on prescription .Also Am I really sure my insulin is the exact dose.? So I threw it away as a replacement prescription was given to me for a Novo pen Echo Plus.

IT WORKS VERY WELL
Will offer anyone a very detailed record of your short term insulin intake. You can with each injection make individual notes.

Does not work
It took me a year after the purchase to right a review. It's taking a few attempts every time I try to enter pen data to my phone app, but I could live with it. Just after a few months this pen started to give me an Error message once in a few days when I was checking the insulin timing. And in the last 2 months it's giving me an Error 80% of the time. I feel l need to start recording my insulin amount and time on the paper again as it's becoming dangerous relying on this pen as I am type 1 diabetic. Don't know if I can get a replacement but will try as pen suppose to function a few years, not a few months!. Given 1 star as still can dial and inject insulin otherwise would be zero.Isn't worth £50 I paid for. I had a NovoPen Echo before and it worked for 4 years without any problems, wish I bought it instead of this one.

It's the genuine thing.
It's the proper Insulin Pen. I got this pen as a spare and it's the real deal.

It doesn’t work.
Update: the pen no longer transfers sata to the ‘phone. It is a waste of time and money.I bought the pen because of the NFC link to (in my case) the Freestyle Libre app on iOS.First, the pen. It works, as have the other Novo Echo pens I have used. Reliable, discrete, familiar and, crucially, with the ability to administer half unit doses. The star rating I have applied here would be 5 if the pen was simply to administer insulin. It is the NFC where I have marked it down. The NFC. It sort of works, usually on the second, third or fourth attempt with error messages popping up instead of a record of insulin administered. The multiple attempts required to get it to work on each jab are deflating. It leaves me feeling it would be more productive to go back to the old way of keeping an insulin record carved in stone using a banana.
