Quality Budget SSD
I have been using SSD for over 10 years now, my 1st SSD was a 30GB Toshiba and cost almost £80, look how the markets changed since then. Today 500gb cost less than £50 and they also 5 times faster and reliable. I normally buy 240 SSD normally to upgrade older laptops or use them in system PC builds and find that this WD Green is great for this purpose. I find it works lot better on older laptops when compared to newer models from other brands, no need to flash the bios or firmware especially on older machines. I haven't seen these fail after using these for several machines and the performance is good, improves boot up speed dramatically. I recommend these for most machines unless you want faster SSD for high end laptop otherwise these will do job.

Big speed improvement, very easy to install, despite there being no guidance.
I'm going to start off by saying I'm exceptionally pleased with this product. A fair few reviews moan about the speed of the drive, and to be fair there are faster drives out there for a bit more money but at this price point, it offered a significant update on the SATA 5400 RPM HDD, in my ageing system. In fact, it's worlds apart! My computer boots up and is ready to go in less than 25 seconds (including logging in) which is long way off the minutes it used to take. If you have to have the absolute fastest, spend a bit more and go for that but this drive is not slow by any means. The only real negative I could find was that there is no guidance on installation/troubleshooting, not a problem for me, I know my way around a pc, but it could be daunting for the less experienced.Have to say that installing the drive, clean installing Windows 10 on it and booting up went really smoothly. It's a godsend now I'm working at home, setting up for the day takes no time at all.

Great SSD product - great for Laptop gaming - giving my Laptop a new lease of life
For me this WD 2Tb SSD was a fantastic option, as an upgrade for my Laptop and worth the money. Even though I bought and installed the WD GREEN SSD's for what I needed this SSD for, mainly gaming and fight simulators. Then adding this SSD into my Lenovo IdealPad 500-15ISK laptop gave me fantastic performance increase. Where games took 5 - 7 minutes to load, on a aging HDD. This same software loads and is playable, within 1 -2 minutes. Which is better measure of performance, rather that 200/300Mbps read/write times. Also added benefits swapping to this SSD gives me, Upgrading or applying software on my laptop, is much a faster, backing up my disk contents is faster, remote or network access to disk contents, much faster.I just wish I had done this upgrade a few years ago. If you are currently on the fence around purchasing this product.......then don't be, it is worth it. Trust me when it comes to every-day performance, then WD Green is a good as, WD Blue and will give your old Laptop or PC a new lease of life

Improves Performance but Acronis True Image (WD Version) Doesn't Work
Just spent most of the day cloning a 500Gb Toshiba HDD to this slightly smaller 480Gb WD Green SSD on a 3 year old Asus laptop with 4Gb RAM and i3 CPU running at 2.0Ghz. The performance has definitely improved, and given the laptop a new lease of life. Boot times are noticeably faster, as are load times for the apps. All in all well worth the purchase. However a word of warning - don't even bother downloading the free Acronis True Image (WD Version) software as it doesn't work and corrupted the system partition each time! After trying various free cloning tools (Easus ToDo, AOMEI Backupper), the only one which worked was Macrium Reflect. Hope this helps someone to avoid wasting time!

WD Green 1TB Internal SSD 2.5" SATA
Fast delivery and a good price for these WD green new models. WD is a respectable brand one of the oldest in the market, so I trust it! Also, I never had issues with WD.

so easy to install.
I bought a mini thinkcentre without a drive just put this in and installed a operating system off a USB drive of zorin and installed it onto this SSD drive . IT now takes about twenty seconds to boot and sign in fantastic . IT also recognises my camera external hard drive which is a western terabyte . and my printer too. so fast too would recommend it.

Brilliant SSD but spend a few quid more and get the Blue one if you can.
First off if you wish to boot your OS off this SSD go and get the WD Blue SSD for a few pounds more.Basic simple SSD here, I boot my OS off it but it lacks its own built in RAM which would normally contain a map of where your data is saved. Instead it's saves on the SSD itself so it just takes that slight bit longer to load up my OS than a WD blue.Regardless it came and I banged it straight in no messing. Had to move to sata port 4-6 as 1-3 were for disk drives, once I did that it ran at full read/wright speed.Ive had it in about 2 months now with no issues what so ever and it is significantly faster than my old HDD, I bought it in a pinch and it is well worth the money but I will get a Blue in future for reliability and that little bit more speed.I never knew this before I bought mine so maybe you should know just so one day in years time your wd green doesn't eventually end up as non degradable waste.
