Happy Sulcata Tortoise !
I purchased this UVB bulb to put into my sulcata outdoor box. The light is not too bright to bother the tortoise but it gives off great UVB rays. I have tested the light and it does what it says. I usually change the bulbs out way before they burn out as I've heard the UVB rays gradually fade. I am happy with the lifespan of the bulbs though. I always buy an extra one to keep on hand. They fit perfectly in the light fixture I have in his habitat. When hes out of his house, he can get natural sun but if he's stuck inside for cold or raining weather, I am confident he is getting his sun rays. Very pleased and will continue to order more when needed.

Failed after 1 day - Buyer beware
I use these for my parrots in an indoor aviary. UV light (UVA & UVB) is critical for keeping healthy birds. And, no, they don't care if there is a picture of a reptile instead of a bird on the box.I've been using this type of bulb for over 20 years. I learned the hard way that they need to be checked regularly to be sure they are producing UV spectrum light and that 6 months to a year (max) is the greatest amount of time they can be expected to perform.Birds begin to get listless and feather quality diminishes and, eventually, discoloration of feathers will begin to be noticeable if they are not getting enough light in the UV range. I faithfully keep track of the age of the bulbs and replace them at 6 months (or, at most, a year) if there is any deterioration of UV quality. This particular bulb took a while to fully light. I gave it a little time to burn in and it seemed okay. But, before the end of the day the bulb died.I will be more vigilant about checking each and every bulb on arrival and I won't be using "Lucky Herp" brand bulbs again.

Perfect!
So bright!! I love it💗 And it's the perfect size for our lamp. It is a larger bulb so it's going to be too much for smaller lamps. I have the 5.5" Thrive Deep Dome Lamps. Also these bulbs are packaged with styrofoam, so it was really stuck in place. I pushed it out from the bottom so I didn't break it like some of the other reviews did. Just be gentle yall😭
