Speaking personally as a fully recovered survivor of Ehrlichiosis, Bartenellosis, Babesiosis, and Lyme, and as a former Sierra Club Outings Leader (1) who has led many day hikes in tick territory, we think this is by far the best design on the market.Any remover that pulls ticks out can break the body from the buried head, allowing tick borne pathogens in the head to continue to inject into the host's blood, and also causing localized skin infection from the decomposing buried mass of the head.Instead, this triangular wedge is slid against the host skin and underneath the tick body, then slowly and patiently pressed forward until the tick body lodges in the apex of the triangle. Continual pressure forward and slightly upward forces the tick to back out of the skin while alive and whole. Not only does this avoid the dangers of embedded tick heads, but it also results in a viable sample one can send to a lab for pathogen testing.(1) The Sierra Club does not endorse this product. I love this little tool! After years off eschewing tick tools, I decided to give the ProTick Remedy a try. I liked that they include scientific data on the tools effectiveness. It's incredibly lightweight, fits easily on my keychain, and works far better at removing tough ticks than the forceps or tweezers I was using before.

I've tried a few different tick removal tools and this one has never let me down, even with the tiny deer ticks. The trick to removing the little ones is to put a finger on either side of the tick just a bit away from the tick and spread your fingers pulling the skin taught, then with the other hand get the tool under the tick close to the skin and pull the tick out.

This is the best tick remover ever, and so simple and easy to use.

🤷‍♀️ I haven’t used this yet, but based upon the style, I believe it will work very well, as described. It IS small, about the size of tweezers, so will be easily lost. Would’ve preferred a longer tool, but thinness will make for better contact with Tick.Comes with chain attachment, but chain will easily break. I’ll replace the chain.

Either way, you should have a few of these, one at home, one in the car, one in your hiking bag, hang one of your pet's leash! Ticks are NOT to be trifled with, get it out properly, and quickly, with these.

Been buying this tick remover for years (I'm always loosing them).In my opinion, they're slightly overpriced for what they are (tiny pieces of bent metal), but they work better than any other removers I've tried... and I've tried at least 4 or 5 other types over the years.I just wish they were cheaper so that I could buy them in quantity, and keep them stashed everywhere.Caution: Yes, they include a keychain so that you can keep them with your keys but over time the remover can wear a little hole in your pocket, it's happened to me.

Whenever we see these for sale, we buy a couple. Works the best.
