Absolutely cheap garbage!
I bought this on October 3, 2022. It literally fell apart the minute I used it. No joke - all I did was put my feet on it. And yes, I put it together correctly. The brackets completely fell apart from the smallest pressure. And the holes for the screws? Barely there! Some, non-existent! It was a royal pain in the ass to even get them in straight! Unfortunately, I was an idiot and used the packaging it came in to take out my cat's litter crap for the day, so I couldn't return it. So I bent the now bent brackets back into a flattened shape as best I could, used slightly bigger and longer screws from extra ones I had at home, and managed to put it back together. It's supported by two very moveable sticks (shown in picture) - that's it. I'm pretty sure that the only reason why I've managed to keep it as long as I have is because one side is being supported with my file box. Fast forward to October 28, 2022 (not even a month!) and now the base has a very noticeable horizontal crack right by one of the (flimsy cheap plastic) wheels. This happened when I was using it as a regular foot stool, instead of extending it. I literally shifted positions in my chair, with just my toes on the stool, and heard a crack. All I could say was, really?! I'm only 4' 10"! Literally the size of a teenager! That's how utterly crappy this product is! Next time, I'm spending more money on a better product. I only went with this one because I'm on a fixed income and didn't have much money. I also thought that the top of it would be more comfortable for my feet. Yeah, no. It's literally a thin piece of 1/8 - 1/4 inch foam with a thin piece of cloth covering it. Not comfortable at all. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this garbage. November 12, 2022 Update: I sat down in my office chair, put my feet on the foot stool, and it completely fell apart. I was more shocked than disgusted at first because I hadn't put any pressure on it at all. Thankfully, the Amazon representative I spoke with on the phone was nice enough to give me my money back, even though it had (barely) been over 30 days since I had bought it. This is by far, the second worst item I've ever bought on amazon. The only reason why it's the second worst is because the saw bit I bought for my dremel that nearly cut my fingers off because of shoddy craftsmanship, comes in first.

Wood was cracked - arrived in damaged box
For the manufacturer. I was so excited when the box arrived for it looked like it would be the perfect footrest for me. I only saw one side of the box when opening it. As soon as my son looked at it to put it together he said, "Mom this piece of wood is cracked!" I put the box was not damaged but when I went to package it back up I saw the other side of the box and it was definitely damaged.

It's pretty cheap
I liked it when I got it, but less than 2 months later one of the wood sides just snapped in half when I put my foot on it. Just sucks that I wasted money I couldn't really afford for something to only last 1 month

Good footrest
I liked this footrest because it's not too high. My only complaint is that it can be tipsy. You have to make sure the longer side of the base faces you, or it will tip over. Also, my husband had to put a screw in the bottom to permanently hold the leg in place or it would pop out of the slot and collapse. When he did that, it was perfect. I liked mine, so he wanted one and likes it also.

Cheap but works
Not sure how long it will last. The wood it very cheap & ‘thin’. Works well, but wouldn’t recommend for something who isn’t a ‘small’ person.

Flimsy, unstable, easy to collapse
Good design, but poor execution. The stool easily collapses by the slightest movement due to its faulty locking mechanism. True it can be reinstalled, but it's annoying. When the package arrives all the screws were scattered in the box, even the plastic bag containing the screws did not function properly. I almost returned it, but finally reinforced the locking mechanism myself with additional screws bought from a hardware store. I do prefer to pay more for a better product, than pay less for a flimsy one!

Foot stool
It’s perfect to store my diamond painting tools and relax my feet.

Poor quality
I had it for 5 days and it broke. It was impossible to use as even with the “lock on” it never stayed put, incredibly unsteady, and I bought it simply to elevate feet unwed the desk. Bad choice. Poor quality. Broke in 5 days and struggled more with it in 5 days then any other product! Beware!

The product does its job BUT the screws broke when I attached the wheels. Would have returned it but did not have the original box. Not as sturdy as it appears. Plus it is not that stable.
