ghd Unplugged Styler ― 1" Cordless Flat Iron

So I’m thinking, “Do I really want (need) to spend over $200 on a flatiron, just because it’s cordless?!” YES! I LOVE this flatiron. I keep it charged on my bathroom counter, stored vertically in a stainless pencil holder. Works perfectly. It is always “at the ready “ and it takes only minutes to turn it on. I brought it on a cruise, and it was the PERFECT hair accessory. My bangs curl up when it’s hot, so it’s just what I needed, since all hotels and cruise ships always have hair dryers. I just needed that extra straightening. The heatproof travel case is another plus. Everything about it is so useful, and I already had a flatiron AND travel flatiron. If you are looking for convenience and effectiveness, this cordless is a PERFECT hair accessory, wherever you are. And, NO, I did NOT get paid for this review.

Here’s the translation: ⸻ This hair straightener is a total disappointment. When you first open it and hold it, it seems very practical since it’s quite lightweight and easy to carry. However, once you turn it on, the problems begin: it doesn’t heat up enough, the battery only lasts exactly 20 minutes when fully charged, it leaves the hair very frizzy and doesn’t even style it properly, even if you go over the same strand 10 times. If you want to curl your hair, it’s even worse because it doesn’t curl at all. I don’t know if my straightener came defective, but if not, this product is definitely not worth the price.

My 2 nd ghd unplugged very light and pleasant to carry even in hand bag ! Great tool for my shoulder length hair!

Works great and loved using it on a trip to Europe from the US. However on a trip to New Zealand it was confiscated by Air New Zealand security in Auckland who explained it was not approved for air travel by any means (carry-on or checked) due to not having a physical battery disconnect switch. They said the only such product that is approved by them is the Dyson Corrale. :-(

Everything I've ever owned from brand has been amazing. This was my first disappointment. The charge on this device only lasts less than ten min., it heats up quickly but must use all the juice to get there. I have fairly thick but straight hair and I can't get through my entire head before it loses power. Expected more for the price.

I was really concerned that the battery charge wouldn’t last long enough to do my hair but it does. I bought this for an international trip so I wanted something lighter weight and the usb charger made it a no brainer. I have medium length hair and this worked faster and better than my plug in straightener at home. It’s expensive but for me it is worth it.

Practical. I take it with me in the car without an electrical connection. My hair is long until the end of my back. The charge ends after the first and complete use on your hair, and you have to charge it again completely. So when I start using it on my entire hair and finish, the charge ends with the last use on my hair strand.

Leaves hair frizzy, can barely hold a charge to do your hair quickly and you have to restart the device multiple times because it overheats. the heat strength is weak so if you are adding any wave or curl it will fall out within an hour.

La batería es muy poca, solo 20 minutos, tienes que ser muy rápido para acabar una cabellera regular/abundante, y entre más tiempo pasa más se calienta, esto no se si sea normal, tampoco me quema pero en climas cálidos debe calentarse muchísimo, el tamaño es fabuloso pero no es muy ergonómico para manos pequeñas ya que es ancho el agarre, el cabello lo trabaja muy bien como cualquier plancha ghd (no platinum) me gusta pero necesita mejoras. Aun así es un instrumento super fancy y útil.

So these USB / wireless hair stylers are good for those occasions where you need a quick fixing on the go. The GHD brand is amazing, I would say better than Dyson and half the price. This cordless flat iron and curler is probably the best in the market yet. It works significantly better as a straightener than a curler. I was only able to curl the tips of my hair, but it still gives a beautiful silky look. It needs to be charged for 2hrs and it only last 20 mins… however all the cordless or usb stylers or curlers or straighteners only last 20 mins top, however some of them do charge faster or let you style your hair meanwhile you charge it (and they are actually way cheaper like $80). So what I love about this styler is obviously the look, the quality, the ergonomic structure, and overall the plates: - They heat up almost immediately, which honestly is the only one usb that heats this fast! - they slide so easy on your hair and they never never pull the hair - they leave your hair super silky What I didn’t like about this hair styler: - it takes a long time to charge - it does not curl as well - you can’t lock the plates close together - it doesn’t have an airplane mode (I don’t know if it matters) - you can only fit the styler in the bag, you cannot fit the charger and cable as well.

It’s the worst losses charge waste your money

After ready all the reviews about the poor battery I was hesitant but decided to give it a go. I have been using it for 5 months now and it’s doing a great job. I have thick wavy mid-length hair (just touching my shoulders). With 1 battery charge I can straighten my hair one morning and retouch my bangs the next morning (I go a bit slower because of the small size). My battery did exactly what advertised : 20 minutes even after 5 months of usage. I bough it because I travel a lot and the USB-C charging is a game changer. I always have it in my carry-on luggage. I flew from Canada, Europe, Singapore and Australia without any issues. And then came New Zealand. They confiscated it at the security because the battery is non removable nor there is a flight mode. So I love it but I am not going to buy it again until they fix that issue. I still recommend unless you are planing to fly to New Zealand, Hong Kong or USA with it.
