Family fun is just ok.
Magazine is quite small. Not a lot of articles anymore. A lot of ads. Probably won't get it again.

Great, healthy preteen magazine!
My girls (8 and 10) LOVE this magazine. It's full of things preteen girls are interested in--crafts, rooms, quizzes, friendship information, and so on. But it is NOT full of advertisements, celebrities, and images that will corrode girls' self-esteem. A really fun, healthy magazine for girls this age!

Love this magazine for easy crafts, recipes and kid friendly parenting ideas
I initially started reading this magazine because it was a free gift with a purchase of a baby seat that I got when my sone was only 6 months old and I'm still reading it and finding a lot of valuable information in it now that my son is almost 6 yrs old!Great ideas for kid friendly crafts and recipes, depending on the the season or holiday. We have done many of them together and both of us enjoyed the quality time together a lot. These are always simple to do for the most part, but things I wouldn't have thought to do on my own since I am very "uncrafty" and a very busy full time working single mom. There are also usually articles on vacations and trips that are geared towards family and kids, which I really apprecate and find interesting. I've been saving those vacation ideas and will probably look to do one, referencing the ideas in the article, at some point in the near future.Good magazine and an excellent value at the great price offered by Amazon. The only thing is that with my first order thorugh Amazon, I did get two issues at the same time, one for the month past and one for the current month. I would have preferred to start my 12 months with the current month, not the previous months issue.

Enlightening and fun!
My seven year old daughter is waiting for her next issue with baited breath! The articles tap into the resiliency of childhood and give girls articles from girls their own age, mothers and professionals that remember and value what it meant to be a girl before the intense branding and normalization into gender roles began. I applaud American Girl for their efforts and for reminding me of my own childhood and the magic that can still be found there. It's refreshing to see a complete lack of drama, scantily clad girls who aren't ready to be women in contentious realms of modern society, and to witness the conspicuously lacking drive girls today seem to have to hide who they are with makeup and social pressure. Well done! I'm a subscriber as long as I have young girls in my life! Now please help us find an option like this for our sons!

American Girl embraces girlhood!
Grand daughter's favorite magazine! I love that someone is offering wholesome reading material for young girls who aren't so eager to step out into the tween world. When I look back 30 years ago, 11 and 12 yr olds were still playing with dolls. Today, there seems to be a lot of pressure to grow up and retire dolls by much earlier. American Girl has not only made it ok but acceptable for young girls to take their time and enjoy their girlhood. Thank you American Girl!

Nice interesting & safe magazine for young girls & tweens!
My 12 year old has been getting this magazine for years now. She requested it continues. Good age appropriate articles & real life stories young girls & tweens can easily understand & appreciate. I believe our youth needs as much encouragement to read - this encourages reading!

Love This Magazine - Lots of Good Content
I purchased this subscription through Amazon (not one of those fake you won a free subscription places).About every 5 or 6 pages, yes there is an ad. That's what keeps it affordable as a subscription. Some of the ads are actually useful.I've always loved this magazine and was happy to finally be reunited with it. There are recipes, travel and activities and ideas, humor and lots more. I'm really happy with it.

Daughter Loves It, So Does Mom
My ten year-old loves this magazine. She looks forward to them and reads them front to back. They come with posters every other month, which she hangs all over her room. I'm so glad they are puppies and kittens, not teeny bopper boys. Issues are filled with games, crafts, stories, and advice columns. There are no ads, no boyfriend talk, no make-up tips. Here's a brand that knows tweens (and moms). It keeps the innocence of youth without making girls feel babied.
