This is not a ribbon leather. It is almost squared, but beware that only 1 side is going to contain/have the actual color that you order.Thick, strong, able to wind around cowboy hats.Nice - Not Junk.

Good quality
Excellent quality for the price paid. I'm just using this to hang up my good wooden spoons. Pulled the knots as tight as I could and no worries about anything breaking.

Very sturdy and looks great!
You get exactly what you see in the listing. It’s super sturdy, and looks and feels more expensive than the very reasonable price you get it for here. It’s very thick, so not the best for necklaces with pendants, etc. I used it to wrap around a handle of a dagger, it was easy, just needed a bit of super glue to attach it, and it looks professionally done thanks to the high quality of the leather. Will order more for other projects.

4mm is insufficient for boot laces/not "Heavy Duty"
This looks nice and was sized accurately (4mm) but there is little top grain left in the leather. Most of the material is loose and weak. I tried this out to make some laces for a pair of boots. The top layer quickly chaffed/cracked and then they broke under light tension. The 5 yards was enough to make 2 pairs of laces, but so far I have broken 2 after only a few weeks of use. It looks like it would make a good boot lace, but this is not the case. To be fair, it is not advertised for this application, though it is identified as "Heavy Duty" - it is medium to light duty as far as I am concerned.For more decorative applications I think this material would be fine. The color was consistent and sizing even.
