Parrot AR Drone 2.0 Propellers

As with any R/C props, they perform best with tuning and balancing. The injection molding process ALWAYS leaves one end of the prop heavier than the other. Easily fixed with two tall glasses, a toothpick, and some electrical tape. Some use clear nail polish on the underside of the blade, but that requires several balancing checks as the nail polish becomes lighter as it dries. Always put the tape on the underside of the blade near the tip; placing on the top side of the blade with screw up the aerodynamics and likely come off over time. Crashes and dings to the blade may require sanding and rebalancing.Props are labeled "A" (anti-clockwise) and "C" (clockwise) on the underside. MUST be installed in correct position. I recommend doing one at a time. If looking down on the drone with the camera facing forward (and you behind the drone), the "A" props are at the front right and rear left positions, "C" props are located in the front left and rear right positions. ARDrone-Flyers dot com has a thread on correcting pitch, straightening, and balancing. You should perform in that order; pitch, straightening, balancing. Great site for drone info.Besides correcting several issues (drops or loses altitude for no reason, flips without command, etc.) it will reduce or eliminate "jello" from your videos and increase your flying time. Surprisingly easy, doesn't require specialized tools, and relatively quick to complete.I highly recommend replacing the stock brass bushings with sealed high-performance bearings. Again, inexpensive and easy to do, and will (supposedly) increase your motor life X 4.I also recommend gear protectors for when you graduate to the outdoor hull. At a minimum you should consider the following spares:Extra circlips (also know as eclips).Extra propeller shaftsExtra propeller gearsExtra pinion gearsExtra propellersGorilla Glue (for repairing the outdoor hull. The included acrylic tape works, but won't hold if you're flying in cold weather.) I've ordered some EVO Stick Serious Glue, but I can only find it in Great Britain and am waiting to receive it. About $16 US (which includes shipping) for a 33 gram bottle.I also really like the MacGyver mod. Extends your range while retaining all the functionality you get with iOS and Android. You do lose Absolute Control however. Once you've been flying awhile the need for Absolute Control isn't necessary anyway.

Got it right the second time. The first one I received had three of the same propellers. There are supposed to be two normal and two that are counter-rotating but instead it had three. On top of that one of the props was badly warped. I don't think this happend during shipment because the plastic cover that it's package in seems pretty sturdy so I'm assuming Parrot packaged a defective propeller.Needless to say, I had to send the first one back and Amazon was very quick to send me a replacement. Got it the next day.Also, contrary to one review I read, this DOES come with the c-clips, 8 of them so you don't have to worry if you lose a couple. Replacing them is pretty easy also despite the tiny clips. Although, I would suggesting using a pair of needle nose pliers which made it a lot easier to remove and replace the tiny c-clips.

I purchased this set of propellers after crashing my AR Drone 2.0 a few times and already breaking the gear, shaft and scuffing up the propellers.Changing out the gears shafts and propellers is relatively easy to do using Parrots toolkit. This is a perfect replacement part for the original props that come with your AR Drone 1 or 2.0 and work perfectly! The only thing I can really complain about is the lack of extra C clips that come clearly pictures in all ads on and off Amazon that I see for this product, so for that it looses one star. Otherwise perfect no complaints. The Prop are listed A B C D and need to be replaced in the proper order. Instructional videos are available on Parrots website. They were easy to install, and made a great improvement to my whirlygig.If you just got a Parrot AR.Drone 2.0, you WILL crash it and learn to repair it. Fortunately, Parrot makes all of the components of the drones replaceable and sells the parts. It's a good idea to have a set of these replacement props on hand, and also a set of prop gears and shafts, which are also available here on Amazon.comIf you have been flying your drone and noticed that the video and still photos from it are not as sharp as they used to be, chances are that you have a bent and unbalanced prop and/or prop shaft causing vibrations that blur your pictures.

I ordered this set of props simply to have as a spare set, just in case I needed them eventually. They arrived quickly, were priced fairly, and are packaged well.If you look around on YouTube, you can find videos for ways to make sure that the props are EXACTLY the shape that they are supposed to be. I will be doing that to these props as soon as I end up actually needing to open the package. I also plan to do a really good job balancing them, so that the AR.DRone will run as smoothly as possible.Overall, they were a good price for the peace of mind of having an extra set for if (when?) I need them.

I actually haven't changed the props on my AR Drone 2.0, but after getting these I tried filing my original propellers to take out nicks and gouges. I'll replace when the filing no longer works.BTW, the filing an sanded props are still in good enough shape to a 3.8 oz HD camera mounted on top of the AR Drone's indoor hull. Flying time is cut in half but it is an exercise in seeing if I can develop enough lift from less than perfect props.

I liked the way these propeller were packed keeping them straight and protected the price was good as well well done!

I bought these blades as spares as I had read and seen reports that they can be easily damaged when flying outside, like all things that are set up to run to a certain tolerance, even a small chip out of one of your prop blades will through time wear out its bearing as it will "wobble" whilst turning therefore sending more stress to the bearing.
