Handy well put together “all-terrain” hardy compact tool
Superb quality, sharp and effective, and built to last. The fancy sheath was overkill, as the blades stay put when closed anyway, so I did away with it. I just filed slightly to smoothen the pointed tips so it won’t stab when touched. I also sanded to smoothen more the handles’ insides so it won’t rub sharply when in sustained use. The compact size was perfect for portability and comfortable enough for me to handle. Since it could cut even copper wires, twigs, and plastic tarps among others, I got an extra to keep in the car as survival/emergency tool.

Strong reliable scissors
I recently purchased the ENGINEER PH-55 Multi-Function, 160mm Compact Scissors, and I must say, they have exceeded my expectations. These scissors are designed to cut many types of materials and objects that ordinary scissors would struggle with. One of the standout features of these scissors is the flat blade from the top to the middle shear, which allows for smooth cutting of not only cloth but also paper. The micro serrated blade from the middle to the rearmost shear is especially impressive, as it securely holds the object without slipping, providing precise and controlled cutting. The inclusion of a wire cutter independently placed near the handles is a fantastic addition. It is perfect for cutting copper and steel wires, adding versatility to these scissors. Additionally, the safety box opener on the outside of the cutting blades is incredibly convenient for effortlessly opening carton boxes.Safety is also a top priority with these scissors. The finger pinch guard, which prevents fingers from being pinched between the handles, provides an added layer of protection. Moreover, the scissors come with a protective cap with drain holes, ensuring safe storage and preventing any accidental injuries. The build quality of these scissors is outstanding. The rust-proof stainless steel body ensures durability and longevity, making them a reliable tool for a variety of tasks. The sharpness of the blades is truly impressive, but it's essential to handle them with care to avoid any unexpected cuts.In terms of performance, these scissors cut various materials cleanly and safely. The comfortable handles make prolonged use comfortable and ergonomic. Whether you're working on fabric, paper, or other materials, these scissors deliver exceptional results. As a frequent user of different tools, I appreciate the quality and reliability of the ENGINEER PH-55 Multi-Function Scissors. They are incredibly sharp, durable, and versatile. In fact, these scissors have become my go-to tool for a wide range of tasks. I only wish I had discovered them earlier. If you're in need of a small pair of scissors that can handle almost anything, I highly recommend the ENGINEER PH-55 Multi-Function, 160mm Compact Scissors. Their exceptional cutting ability, combined with their durability and thoughtful design features, make them a worthwhile investment. They are a must-have addition to any toolbox or day-go-bag, and they are particularly suitable for EMTs due to their versatility and reliability.

Very high quality compact scissors
These are truly superior quality scissors. I got them on the recommendation from an acquaintance that these are the BEST small scissors for opening those nerve-racking clam-shell packages. Works like a charm. Both blades of these scissors are near razor sharp, and the back half of one of the blades is serrated, so that slick objects, like the hard plastic used in clam-shell packages does not try to slip out of the jaws. The handles are about as small as they can be, and still be comfortable to use for a man's size L hand. Included is a sturdy cover for the blades. The blades themselves are thicker and stronger than I expected. Very, very well made. There are a few things to note: These are compact scissors, great for dropping in a junk drawer. They don't take up much space, and the cover keeps the blades from damaging anything or becoming damaged. They are not 'tiny' by any means, but about as small as you can make scissors, and not really sacrifice cutting ability. The blades are fairly short, but sturdy, and in the same vein, the handles are smallish, but sturdy, and reasonably comfortable. Cut into the backside of the hinge (the handle side) is a small notch which I believe is for cutting wire. I'd stick to copper or at least non-hardened wire, but it is nice to see, as if you do have to cut wire in a pinch, you don't risk damaging the blade. The best scissors of their size I own.

Sharp, almost perfect
VERY sharp and cuts well. Only complaint is handle holes too small for large hands

Who knew that a pair of utility scissors could be so impressive?
Need a pair of utility scissors that are not only well built, ingeniously designed, but also showcase the manufacturer's pride in craftsmanship? Then look no further than the PH-55 scissors from ENGINEER.At this price point, you'd expect something less than impressive, that might last a year or so, and be a run of the mill pair of scissors. This is not the case with ENGINEER scissors. The joint hardware is precision fit, and delivers a smooth-as-butter action. No binding, no tight/loose spots in the travel of the halves. The way the halves travel as you cut through a wide range of material is impressive enough to make me think these were hand fit, and lapped together (I appreciate fine tools). The shears are partially "micro-serrated", so you get a firm bite when cutting difficult materials, such as tubing, leather, etc. NO walking as you cut, they deliver straight, precise cuts. The handles are offset, so you can grip these scissors with confidence, and comfort. Like to hold your scissors like a telecom technician or electrician for maximum leverage? Go right ahead, they're comfortable.Just a note, if you have large hands, the handles may seem a little on the diminutive side, but don't let this stop you; just adjust your grip. Speaking of handles, yes, they are pretty busy looking...they have a kind of "Transformers" look, like they'll turn into a truck, or a space ship, or a robot. However, they nest into a matching hard plastic sheath, and believe me, they tend to get noticed when I'm on the job site. Gripes about the sheath? I really wish the well designed, friction-locking sheath had a belt clip! It's that damned cool!In short: In the market for some hard-use utility scissors? Give the ENGINEER PH-55 a shot!
