Easy to use, informative, and a great tool for do-it-yourself mechanics.
Great diagnostic tool, it simply downloads your vehicle information and works! It is capable of pairing key fobs, and diagnosing engine codes. After identifying the engine codes, it proceeds to provide links to help the user better understand the problems and identify possible ways to fix them. Its easy to use, simply plug the device into the OBD-II port under the drivers console, install the app on your phone, follow the instruction to pair bluetooth, and diagnose your vehicle. Its saved me a lot of money by allowing me to identify problems and fix the ones that I am able to resolve on my own.

One of the best purchases I've made
This scanner is perfect for a DIY'er. Way more than a generic OBD2 scanner. Capable of live data graphing and bidirectional control of the various modules within the vehicle. Connects to your phone easily and small enough to keep in the glove box.

Powerful, Portable Mechanic in Your Pocket! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Thinkdiag2 OBD2 scanner is honestly a lifesaver for anyone who likes to take charge of their car’s maintenance or just wants to save themselves some trips to the shop. I’ve tested this scanner on my Mercedes, BMW, and Chevy, and it worked like a charm on each one. It’s incredibly versatile with its bidirectional control, so you’re not just reading codes—you can actually command your vehicle’s systems, making it ideal for real diagnostics and functional tests. Connecting it to my iPhone was a breeze, and the Bluetooth connectivity is solid (no annoying disconnects mid-scan). The Thinkdiag2 app is well-designed, too. It’s easy to navigate, and even if you’re not super familiar with diagnostic tools, the app’s layout helps make sense of what’s going on. One of the best features? You get access to tons of systems beyond the standard OBD stuff—ABS, SRS, transmission, and even some deeper manufacturer-specific diagnostics. That’s a serious step up from basic readers. And the live data is clear and customizable, which really helps you monitor your car’s performance. If you’re a DIYer or just like staying informed, this scanner is worth every penny. The cost is up there, but considering what you’d spend at a shop, it pays for itself quickly.

Doesn't work as advertised.
I too considered the negative reviews and decided to try anyway. I emailed ThinkCar and got confirmation that I could do a 2008 Prius ABS brake bleed and linear offset relearn for our ABS actuator replacement project (yes, the $1200 part, or the $2700 repair at your local shop). It can be done. The mechanial part is actually not hard, just tedious and time consuming. It's the post repair configuration that gets you. I noted in the product FAQ's that functions were not as "robust" on IOS, so I purchased an Android tablet. Software would not install, said incompatible. First flag. Installed software manually on the tablet no issues. Initialized the software for Toyota and successfully registered and connected to car. Proceeded to run the ABS brake bleed but it would not finish successfully, crashing at various points or finishing "unsuccessful". Four hours of retrying and searching for answers, no luck. No online support, email or phone only during work hours m-f. Not taking a day off to get the runaround as described in other negative reviews. We then proceeded to use the mini vci cable and cloned tech stream software also purchased off Amazon. (Which involved building a windows 7 pc for compatibility, and downloading an ancient copy of tech stream from a forum because the software included in the Amazon product was bogus.) Which, believe it or not, actually worked. There are other required functions in order to actually complete the job: resets, clear the various DTC's due to the system being dissembled, and a final reset to clear the brake, abs and vsc dash lights, which I'm not sure the ThinkDiag could accomplish, never made it that far. This seems like a great product for DIY work. Affordable at $135, a great advantage over other products - which there appear to be none. I spent several hours and contacted several vendors trying to find a diagnostic scanner to do this work and it appears there are none, save the several thousand dollar commerical products, or possibly the Harbor Freight scanner at $900. Sorry folks, very enticing but not ready for prime time.

Features Missing for iPhone Users this device is for Android Users. You can renew for $70 per year
Let me say that this thing will compete with my Launch x431 SPRO3+ scanner which is around $1200. This is a lot better then the TopDon TopScan as well it does more special functions such as Transmission learning and has a ton of active tests / bi directional controls. This device is however for android users. The 4 in 1 graph or combine does not work with IOS or iPhones at all and is major feature. They mention this is because of copyright features. This means no plotting 4 wheel speed sensors at once for iPhone but for Android it works. This is why a took a star away because they mention that this feature but it doesn't work again for iPhone. But for the price this thing is absolutely amazing I have tried on it couple of weeks so far and the active tests all work for it. The graphing is also ahead of Topscan and allows you to change and look at graphs and 4-1 with recorded data and the TopScan won't allow you to do that and just plays a movie file back of the recording which is very limited. I would recommend this over TopScan because you get some much more functionality and the graphing is awesome. Plus it can do ECM Replace for Honda / Subaru and TopScan Doesn't do that and transmission relearn and keys. The reason for getting this is I bought a Launch x431 Pro3S+ 2 years ago and I can't renew it because they want $524 to renew 5 vehicle makes for 1 year which is crazy and costs 2/3 of the Scan Tool. So I bought this to replace my Launch x431. So far I have compared features of the Thinkdiag 2 to the Launch x431 and this little device can do almost as much as the x431 for a fraction of the price and at the renewal won't be $524 per year. I also got this to work on an Android Tablet even though not recoommended and it is working out so graphs and everything are larger to see. I also like it has a cord so you don't forget it in a car. It the scanner part fits in the door side holder nicely or on top of the steering wheel. I have the Topdon Topscan as well and this thing puts the TopScan to shame in features again such as special functions and the ability to replace ECM on certain models. For the price it just can't be beat and it looks like you can renew for $70 per year which is really good considering the options you get. www.x431tool.com is a way to renew for reasonable price $70. It also appears durable and should hold up. Don't full for the ones with lifetime updates like gearwrench and xtool they won't update plus you dont get key ecu coding or transmission learning. It almost looks like this has the same software as the Launch Scanner as its almost identical in the way it functions. I just wish Launch would make it so you can renew without have to spend ridiculous money. If you are looking for a scanner such as Launch x431 I wouldn't buy for the above reasons. Launch Support is also in China and they don't seem to care about fixing their software or doing anything when you submit feedback I hope for this Thinkdiag 2 its a different experience. You can't lose on this Thinkdiag 2 on the price point.

DOES DO KEYS!
Bought this on the chance the info was actually correct and that it could enroll chip keys for my 2025 Nissan Rogue Select. IT DOES! The setup, registration, software downloads were simple enough and work flawlessly on my iPhone. The erase/enroll steps for the immobilizer were clear and easy to follow (be sure to write down the passwords and any other numbers it captures, so you have them for the steps immediately following). Calls around for keys/programming ran from $125 to $250 PER KEY TO CUT AND PROGRAM! I bought four chip keys (be sure to match the FCC ID and Chip number to your original key), cut them myself, and all four enrolled in the immobilizer flawlessly, FIRST TIME! I can’t speak for everyone or every vehicle, but I can say that just about everything else for the 2015 Nissan Rogue Select “J”-VIN has been a challenge to match parts and harnesses for, but this little baby made keys a no-brainer!

Nice for the price, Hard to use but does have a lot of good features if you can find them!!!!
I was torn between 3 and 4 stars, this device is a great budget option for newer cars. That said it does not support older OBDII systems. My 98 Jeep would not connect, where my Cheap 5 ELM 327 and Torque would. That said, it has many nice features for the newer cars like adaptive learning, controlling ECU body controls, EVAP TEst etc.... That is the Good....The interface is rough, hard to find actuation test and diagnostic relearns. Hopefully they will improve the interface. if not I will sell my unit and invest in Xtool ....
