Q: Color is the color of the gray one all over gray even the connecting poles? I don't want black connecting poles with gray shelves

Hello, My kit contained black poles. The gray parts are the soft shelving that holds the shoes. These shelves are pulled taut when you insert the support poles. These can be assembled in the heights you need. So far I have built one stand of five, and two stands of four. I am getting ready to build another stand of four for another use. My order was for two kits.

Q: Is it normal to have leftover parts from the assembly?

The leftover parts might be what you use to attach to the wall for safety. I didn't use it but I like the idea incase you have young children that climb etc

Q: Has anyone used this shelving unit for folded t-shirts or sweatshirts?

You can but you'd only fit one shirt per shelf. The distance between shelves is very very small and the length is only going to fit 1 item. Plus the shelves are paper so it tips and rips. I used it for shoes for about 3 months before I threw it out

Q: How easy is this to put together?

It’s very easy. I’ve had mine for quite sometime, and am still very pleased with it. It’s in my closet, holding shoes and purses, takes up minimal space and well worth the price.
