Better than anticipated!
Different versions of these parachute army men have been around FOREVER, but these are really cool because they don’t have all the strings that get tangled! They’re also a little bigger than the traditional army guys. The colors are bright, and the design is really cool. I imagine the netting on the bottom will get shredded, because it is a bit delicate, but they should be fun for my kiddo. I think if the manufacturer added “supporting” ribbons to reinforce the netting, from the shoot down to the guy, it would make a big difference in longevity. I’ll try to add a video when my son chooses it from his prize bin. Overall, I had fun messing with them, and would recommend this toy!

Much better than the ones we had when we were kids
I purchased these for my son's 4th birthday after reminiscing how fun I had with them when I was a kid. I recently finished building a fort for my kids that sits on stilts 8 feet off the ground. Dropping and throwing paratroopers from the fort came to mind so I started searching around online. Most the paratroopers I had as a kid were very cheaply made with flimsy plastic chutes and thin string tying them together. The plastic chutes wouldn't open when bundled and thrown, and the strings would quickly get tangled up. I remember the best way they worked was to just keep their chutes open and hurl them up as hard as we could, but because of not being bundled they wouldn't go very high. They were mostly short-term use then throw away paratroopers because the plastic easily ripped and strings became tangled.Well I must say that those days are now over and these new paratroopers are very much new and improved. The chutes are made of thin nylon/silk-like material, and instead of strings they have netting attached to a single nylon strap to hold the chute to the trooper. I wasn't thinking much when I purchased these but was pleasantly surprised to see how well they are built compared to what I was used to. Don't get me wrong, the material is very thin and cheap feeling, bu these are cheap toy paratroopers after all. The threading that attaches the nylon strap to the parachute is also a little questionable and may need to be re-sewn if used heavily, but time will tell.I also wish either the parachute was bigger or the paratrooper were smaller so that they would fall slower. I am probably going to attach a smaller figure to the parachute (if my son will allow it) and see if I can get them to fall much slower. Any way, for the price and what you get compared to what we had when we were kids these are a great buy and I'll likely be buying more.

Well made, but I prefer smaller ‘army guys’ for longer flights
Got these for the kids, and they like them a lot.The netting in the parachute is a nice touch, and the bright colors help with finding them. That said, the kids are 3 and 5, and they can’t throw these very high. The army guys are big, and that means they fall relatively fast. For hang time, the kids need to get some real height. For older kids, that maybe wouldn’t be an issue - so bear in mind the 3 stars are for MY kids use-case, not a statement about the product for ALL kids.

Fun and inexpensive toys for both boys and girls…
There were toys similar to this when I was growing up. They were lots of fun to throw around. But - The older ones had strings and parachutes made out of thin material that always tangled and broke. These are pretty intelligently designed. They don’t tangle up and the fabric can take a pretty good beating. They were given to four grandchildren – two males and two females. They all loved them. And as far as I know, they haven’t been broken yet. Excellent cheap gift for kids.

Parachute extremely effective
My great-nephew LOVED one of these, spent a great deal of time with his youngest uncle achieving the highest drop-off points they could. Since he had four others in the pack—this is just a cheap GI toy, although with the added genius of a really big parachute— I assume he gave them away to friends, as this he likes to do. I don’t think this toy would offend parents who are against representative military hardware.
